Smith represents Hawks, city

Josh Smith's personal and professional emotions have been at odds for days.
When the Hawks clinched a playoff berth for the first time in nine seasons last week, two of his lifelong dreams had been realized. There was the one he had for his city. There was also the one he had for the franchise he grew up rooting for, even when they were an afterthought to most.
Smith has struggled with the idea of who to be happiest for

LOVE this kid. He's just such a joy to watch and a joy to cheer for. My buddy bartends at this club Josh frequents, and he tells me that Josh is the most humble, down to earth guy. I hope we keep him for a long, long time.

Yeah, it would be great for Josh to be able to spend all/most of his career here in ATL. He has a genuine passion for both the game and his team, its something you see in guys like KG, Nash, or Duncan.

^ Agreed. He's one of the handful of guys in this league that truly play with passion and want to win at all costs. I can only hope that his fire has the same influence on our franchise that Kevin Garnett, Steve Nash, and Rasheed Wallace have on theirs...

Between this article and the stat article, it should be clear to the Spirit that he is a must resign. Any success in this playoff appearance and he could springboard to that Dominique-level of fan love.

One of the BIGGEST reasons I wanted us to make the post-season was to possibly increase the chances of Josh Smith wanting to re-sign with this team and the ASG of having enough sense to do so
Im happy for Smoove but I'm afraid he may be completely out of control out there with all the adrenaline
