obviously he has a good game but i think it has been way overhyped
he had the worst +/- of anyone on the hawks on sunday and i think he as long as the rest of the hawks did not rebound as well as they could

Yeah, Horford has been overhyped. He has been the best rookie and he doesn't get half the exposure Durant gets. +/- for a single game in which your team gets slaughtered doesn't mean a whole lot. He could have rebounded better, but that was just one game against the best team in the league. Still was a great game.

I seriously hate the +/- per game stat that NBA.com implemented this season, it doesn't mean hardly anything, in this case nothing. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't, which confuses most people into thinking the wrong ideas.

It could have been interesting to see this stat if we have lost by 1pt. Then you can see who created a positive impact, and who did not. It's still not very talking, but it would have had more sense.

Lets keep it simple

No Horford=no playoff birth against the Celtics!

Is that simple enough to understand?
- Woody didn't like Shell, even though we took him 5th.
- Zaza plays zero to little defense; we turn into a open highway when he is in the middle.

What else do you want from Horford? He is a PF playing out of position.
He could be our Tim Duncan if you would put him in the right spots.
He just knows how to play the game.

And btw, give him someone to complement him on the inside like Duncan had with David Robinson when he came into the league.

Horford is a more effective player than Durant, hands down! Picking Durant over Horford would not have gotten us into the playoffs.

Look elsewhere when placing blame on this team. Truth is, Horford and JJ are the ones who deserve the least criticism.

JJ? Really?

Are we talking about game one or the season?

I would not put JJ on this game, IMO the only two guy playing how they have to do against Boston were Horford and Childress.

Horford had a great game and he was the best offensive player on the Hawks. He was getting to the right spots and destroying Boston on the offensive glass. People are getting a little carried away saying that we should have gone to him more in the post, he wasn't scoring by playing in the post. He also played 40 minutes and grabbed 3 defensive rebounds and wasn't much of an interior defensive presence.

All the Hawks except maybe Childress could have improved their play (Childress did a great job considering his strengths and weaknesses).

Childress played a great game period. He also was aggressive going to the lane.

I think that we have to get Marvin the ball more though. He was able to draw fouls and was looking to do so.
