Wow, Chris Paul and Dwight Howard over Timmy D?

That is a bit of a laugher. Good for Josh but DPOY is a bit of a joke considering that Duncan hasn't won one.

Yeah but the way i look at it is that a Hawk is getting some recognition. I don't see it as anything more than that.

While Smith's defense certianly can improve i think a lot of people underestimate the impact his shotblocking has on our defense as a whole.

I think Josh Smith deserved to be higher on the list. He changes a game defensively more then Kobe Bryant and possibly Bowen and Battier.

Kobe Bryant plays hard defense for about 8 minutes a game.
Marcus Camby is HORRIBLE defensively. He blocks shots, but doesn't rotate at ALL, is horrible in pick and roll defense and is horrible on the man defense.

But I can't disagree with the winner or Battier being there. I would have liked to see Smith as third though, because...well...I think that is where it belongs.

Childress also was 6th in 6th man voting.

I agree. Recognition is recognition.

I think Smith is a great all-around defender. I don't think he impacts the game like Duncan, KG, or Battier (a couple of other guys in there too) but he certainly deserves credit for being a top notch defender. I just think that the voting for these things is usually pretty ridiculous.

As a defender he's gotten a whole helluva lot better when he switches out and guards a guy on the perimeter and he's turned into a pretty good post defender too. He still has his lapses but, I'm happy with his production on that end of the floor.

That list seems about right. I hope Josh wins a DPOY at some point in his career.

Good for Josh! Some joker was actually trying to make the argument to me that Marvin Williams was a better defender than Josh... :D

Congrats to the Joshes for movin' on up! Particularly Chillz, who could use the pub. So now if we could get some decent 7th, 8th, and 9th Man candidates this offseason...

Probably going to take hiring someone who could finish in the top 6 in executive of the year before that happens.

I'd gladly accept top 20 even.
