I want them to get Run DMC, in the league you now need two running backs to be succesful.

We have two rb's: Turner and Norwood
If Dorsey is there then him, if he isn't theneither Chris Long (and trade Abraham) or trade down (Baltimore may want to move up to get Ryan) and take Ellis or an OT or Take Ellis at 3.
I would be happy with any of those scenarios, just not Ryan.

I've been hearing Dorsey's name on a lot of Mocks.

Well put. I cringe at the thought of Matt Ryan. Here would be my wish list:
1 - Glen Dorsey (the next Warren Sapp)
2 - Darren McFadden (I don't care who we already have, he looks like OJ Simpson)
3 - Chris Long (again, I don't care who we have, he's a can't miss prospect)
4 - Sedrick Ellis (if we can trade down, which seems highly unlikely)

It comes down to who St. Louis takes. If they take Dorsey there will be a ripple effect with the next several picks. If they take Long, then Dorsey to the falcons seems likely.
Except if your McShay who thinks the Falcons have to take Ryan because that is a need (because we all know dt, ot, cb, ... are not needs at all

).

Wow, I'm not even a Falcons fan and I too cringe at the thought of them taking Matt Ryan. With the plethora of 2nd rounders the Falcons seemed poised to be able to land Brohm, Henne, or Flacco depending on preference. They'd be getting better pick value and new QB wouldn't have the added weight of top draft pick expectations to accompany replacing Vick expectations.

We need to trade down and get more picks. We are too far away from competing to take a chance on a QB early on. Draft Flacco in the second round if we want a QB.

I want NO parts of Matt Ryan. Your list is about the same as mine..

I'm not a Falcons fan but if Dorsey is there you have to take him(I think the Rams are passing on Sapp all over again by taking Long). He's almost guaranteed to be a beast if he stays healthy. Brohm in round 2 would also be a very good pick.

The Falcons are snakebitten when it comes to high draft picks. The guy they need always seems to get taken one pick ahead of wherever they select. WR Roy Williams got snatched up one pick ahead of Deangelo Hall, then Adrian Peterson last year. And when they get to pick ahead of everyone else, the guy ends up being the first high profile football player/criminal I can recall who doesn't get a free pass from the legal system.
Meet Glenn Dorsey, the league's newest St Louis Ram... ughhhh...

I've been watching Ryan since he was a freshman. His intelligence has always impressed me. Even early on, he never made the same mistake twice. As soon as he found out what he was doing wrong, he was able to fix it. He is a guarantee to be a good NFL quarterback.
That said, Dorsey is the best talent in this entire draft. And we have no DTs at all. Forget the 3 we signed in free agency, they're cannon fodder. With Lewis out, we have nothing at DT.
To me, the answer is simple: Dorsey.
But I can understand Ryan.

I hate that pick. I hate it.

Horrible pick, guess we are going after a qb next year as well.
Ryan has too many int's. We have no line, lost our best catching rb and te, and his int's will be worse. Watch Dorsey become a Pro Bowler and Ryan become a Tim Couch.

Ryan is basically built up by scouts. He didn't really have a great college career but he has all the tools. Kind of sounds like Marvin Williams... We'll see what happens.

Why do I feel like the Falcons just got the 'Darko' pick of this draft's top 5?

I'll bet I'm the only guy here who has actually watched Ryan play in a game, not just video clips. And I've been watching him since he was a freshman.
The INTs came because he had to carry the offense on his back. He had poor skill players to work with and only one OL.
The guy will be a good player. We didn't pick a loser.
By the way, the Falcons just drafted the reverse of the Marvin Williams/Chris Paul situation.

I've watched Ryan play a ton. He was in the middle of the pack in QB efficiency last season and makes a lot of mistakes. I never saw any reaosn to be excited about him, he's a guy that was built up because of his workouts.

Matt Ryan better hope they spend a couple of those 2nd rounders on offensive linemen.
