get extensions? I mean I could honestly see ASG saying look these two got us within two games of knocking off the team with leagues best record.

I was thinkin about the same thing. No one in the world would think this would go 6 games if that were to happen.

yeah it would be a minor miracle considering the predictions. Has anybody read the ESPN scouting report for tonight? They are actually talking about our talent, offensive and defensive sets. I nearly fell out my chair.

I say they win tonight, sign em up for another season. If they win the series lifetime extension for Woody and still just another season for BK.

I think we have to win the series for either of them to hang on.

You'd hope at least.
Two games does not a successful career make.

The day you see me say resign them is the day that I am being held at gunpoint while posting.
I don't care WHAT we do in the playoffs.

wow...tough crowd.....so if we win 3 games and take Boston to 7.......we should turn around blast out the GM who built the team....and the coach who figured out a way to do what no one said we should be able to do?

If we force a game 7 and really give them a run I could see them staying. I want BK gone no matter what.

Yeah, basically.
Its easier with BK because you see the wrong choices he's made down the line. I want Woody gone no matter what but since his impact is game by game you could see them rationalizing it as him turning the corner while in the pressure of the playoffs.
That being said, I expect BK to be gone this offseason and with that I'd assume the new guy would want his own dude in place.

I think you make a terrible mistake if you drop BK or Woody if they take it to 7 games. The one mark of the really good teams is stabilization. The Celt's were in almost the same situation before this year. Head coach who seemed to be over matched and a GM with questionable moves, but a few hits. I'm just saying.

If Woodson and BK didn't suck so bad we wouldn't be playing Boston right now.

Look at what High 5 said. It really depends on how you look at it. Like I said, BK is easier to evaluate but look at the Raps. I think SMitch is a lot like Woody as a tactician, a little better as a motivator, maybe worse as an ego manager. Still, the Raps make the POs and he gets extended and the next season it becomes painfully obvious that he's overmatched.

when ur GM drafts players worse than some draft blogs or so called draft experts from espn for years and years, he needs to get replaced.
anyone couldve just drafted accoriding to nbadraft.net or something and drafted better than BK did..Do u really have faith in BK to make a good pick for coming years? I think not.
For woody, I agree.. I would give him a chance to prove himself with a good roster if he wins a game or two more..plus changing a coach has a bigger impact on chemistry on players than changing a GM does

Truest thing said in this thread.
Why not Boston?

Who cares that we are playing Boston? Are they supposed to be harder than Detroit?
The only thing I have seen is Detroit just whip us like no tomorrow. I wouldn't want to start a playoff series with them. Just ask Orlando.
Unless there is an unbelievable conclusion to this series, I don't think you see both BK and Woody returning. The longer this goes, the more this favors Woody surviving the cut.
BK, well, he doesn't have the authority he once had.

I think it takes a series win to get Woodson an extension (I'm conflicted I want to win, but I really don't care for Woodson). I don't think BK has any chance even if that happens. Well, maybe if Marvin is POG in the series clincher.
Weird thought, maybe Woodson is a good playoff coach and just sucks at the regular season thing.

If anything, these two games are showing that Atlanta has the talent...
I think Knight has to stay at least one more year (is his contract up?), and Woodson has a bit of work still to do...

BK not being allowed to fire Woodson on 3 different occasions is proof that he's going to get fired and I couldn't be more happy. It's also proof that there's no way the two can continue to work together. If the Hawks were to win the series(obviously that's still (a big if)Woody IS coming back. I'm not sure you could just get rid of him after what would probably be the greatest moment in Atlanta basketball history. You couldn't afford the bad PR....However these are the same owners who have been extremely incompetent(letting Woody and BK stay throughout their contracts and embarrassing the franchise by feuding over a free agent)so I'm not sure if they care.

Not sure I'm buying this. There's a better argument that Woody got them to play our of their minds the last 2 games...think of the UGA basketball coach and winning the SEC.
There's no way the Hawks should have only won 37 games after 4 plus years of BK regardless of who the coach is. The best case scenario is that we get rid of both but I see no hope for BK.
