I didn't think we had a chance either but it doesn't mean I wasn't cheering my ass off.

The reason this is all so special is because it was unexpected.

Really? That's why I continued to say we could win one game and that's a start to gaining respect from the NBA nation. I even went into how wonderful it would be if we won two games. Never did I say we would fall over to Boston. While it's still unexpected, I have only looked at the positives to what a win could mean for our franchise, so it's not like I ever said Boston should bring out the brooms.

I thought we were going to get swept. I always try very hard to not allow my biases to sway my opinions (although obviously they will to some extent). I was hoping for the best of course, but just getting here was a success. Now we have a chance to do much more.

Being wrong can be pretty great sometimes!

Bandwagoners have cost me my suite tickets for the whole damn playoffs!

But thats okay. I have been enjoying it at home.

...

Okay, its not okay, but I have been enjoying the series at home.

And I hope I am wrong with my prediction before the playoffs started.

on another forum, i wrote:

Celtics in 5-6. I think they(Atlanta) will catch a cocky team for at least one game, then just straight up beat them in another. But I think their defensive abilities are going to be too much, although Al Horford and Josh Smith going nuts on them in the last game gave me all kinds of hope.

I really hope I am wrong because that would mean we are going to be without wins after last game.

I'm not a Hawks bandwagoner

I've been a Hawks fan for the longest, been watching the Hawks since I was a kid, along with my boys the Knicks, they are definitely the two franchises in the league that I've got love for..

however,

I bet these boards are full of bandwagoners for the Hawks now

^^^ Most of the Hawks fans posting here have been all along. I'm talking about fans of other teams who want to join in on the fun. I want our bandwagon to become like GSW's was last year.

I haven't followed the hawks closely since the 80s w/ spud and nique. I'd have to say tho Childress would have to be my favorite player on yer team. I'd love to have him on the lakers.

That said, I hope you guys beat Goliath. The celtics were crowned by the media at the start of the season. I hope you guys shock and awe them.

And it's not like it matters. The fact is you said what you felt and there is no reason for anyone to call you out about it (or me). That's just taking away from what's now and it feels damn good.

No hard feelings, I love reading your inputs. I just wanted to say that while it was the more logical prediction, I still feel that its hard to call your team out before the fight.

True. I usually do see the same posters posting on this board, but I figured we'd see an influx of posters coming here and we probably will, and I hope we do!!!

The Hawks bandwagon has already begun.... Thank God 4 Ebay, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get some decent seats for Friday's game (I needed 4 good seats and Ticketmaster couldn't find 4 tickets together anywhere in the arena worth sitting, I was stunned - thats the first time thats happened, EVER, as long as I've been going to Hawks games - which is a good 3 years now).

LETS GO HAWKS. JOIN THE BANDWAGON.

Cavs fan who supports you guys all the way!!!

I have never liked the Celtics......even when we would beat them by 30 their fans were cry babies.

Now that they bought KG and Ray Allen.....they think they are entitled to the Finals.

I like your style of play.

I'm unsure about the exact definition of a bandwagon. I mean I believe that a fan is someone who actively wants the team to win every game. They don't have to expect them to win every game. To me a bandwagon jumper is someone who starts watching the the Hawks only after they make the playoffs (locally) or wear Hawks apparel for the 1st time after game 3. If you've been watching all year (on tv or in person) or following the team for years you aren't jumping on the bandwagon, you've got a reserved seat.

Personally, I too thought we could get swept or just win one and I cheered for them every game home or road. They've already exceeded my expectations.

Furthermore I didn't believe we could win the series at the start. I'm not ashamed to admit it. I just didn't foresee how 4 wins could happen given our lack of experience, coaching, depth, how we finished the season, the opponent, how we play on the road, you name it.

Things have changed. Now I believe they can win. I still don't expect it to happen, but I believe it can and I'll continue cheering every step of the way. I'll be glad to be proved wrong.

I don't think anyone thought we could win this series when it started, or at least the majority of us, but we can do it if we can somehow win a game on the road.

I'm only on the "wagon" until the Celtics series is over. I can never forgive the Hawks for their misuse of Tyronn Lue.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
