Jarvis Hayes... I said it last summer, and I'll say it again. The guy is a great shooter, he's smart, and he can be had for alot less than some of the big names other people have thrown out there. We've already got to spend money this summer on our own players, so I don't think looking at these guys commanding big dollars is the way to go. Plus I think he only signed a one year deal with the Pistons this season... I say we go after him.

Marvin's young, and I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, but Jarvis would challenge him for that starting spot, and if Marvin can't get it done, so be it.

I would like for the Hawks to trade ZAZA & convince speedy to retire. Billy Knight & Woodson need to go also. Atlanta need to get a BIG MAN & Outside shooter. I would like to get Anthony Parker.

I wouldn't mind Jarvis Hayes at all.. that way if we do keep Marvin, he'd really have to step his game up because then the starting SF position won't be "his". Marvin coming off the bench is not a bad idea, in fact, it's a great idea.

I'd like Josh Howard also, but I don't want to have to part with one of our stars in the long run for him unless it's Marvin.

(I highly doubt Dallas would want Bibby unless he agreed to come off the oak and play 10 mins per game)

His contract is going up and we are on the cusp of having to give him a long-term.
Current contract is enough for what he brings, but I just don't see him stepping into the forefront when Smoove and JJ aren't producing.

I would like to use him to improve our interior and move Horford to the 4, a la Duncan. He has that kind of ability. Give AL another big man and you will see how he was so succesful at Florida.

And that leaves Smoove going to the 3 and taking the role of Dominique.
He will improve his outside game and will need to be able to guard Prince, Pierce, and possibly LeBron.

Being more formidable up front would make us a more competitive team.
That leaves the $$ going to JJ, Smoove, Horford, and either Bibby or have Law step up and take the role of floor general.

There are things to like about this team, and getting a veteran post player for Marvin would help us more than any other move.

Jarvis Hayes would be nice off the bench, but not as a starter and only makes sense if he is still cheap next season which he should be. He's not a very good player, but he can shoot. I would expect the Sixers to look at him also.

Another guy on the Pistons who can shoot who I think is a much more dynamic player is Walter Herrman. He can shoot, but he can also do more than Hayes and probably would be just as cheap. I'd rather have him.

Duncan has clearly played the 5 since Robinson retired(actually, the year before probably). I don't know why people keep saying he is a 4 when CLEARLy offensively and defensively he is playing the pivot position.

James Jones is a free agent right? Anyways I would like to have Hayes as well since he is a vet, and been around good teams. Not a vet like Speedy who has done nothing.

Not sure at this point, but Horford needs a post presence to help him on the inside. Too many times Boston has surrounded him for rebounds and both he and Marvin are getting the ball stripped when they bring it down.
Not that Horford is Duncan, but like Woody said, when was the last time a big man came into this league and was even close to a double/double average? I think Horford can be our Duncan. He is that important to the improvement of this team.
But he needs someone down low to help him clear the boards. Really, I thought Shelden would complement him more than anyone, but it wasn't used much this year. It finally appeared we might have depth on the frontline. Zaza is of little help here (maybe 5 min/game).
Garnett has plenty to help him, so I can see us being able to bring in one guy to replace what Shelden could have been. But Shelden didn't have to score either.

Well Marv is a fairly weak rebounder for his size and Horford has done a great job on the glass... I'm not really sure what you are talking about on this one.

As good as Horford has been, Duncan averaged 21-12-2.5-2.5 on 55% shooting. Horford has been solid, Duncan was amazing. Please don't get your hopes up that high about Horford.

I do agree that we need a backup big but I am curious as to which C you think we could trade Marv for and be a better team for it.

I had my eye on Kelenna Azubuike since he can opt out of his 800K salary. He's more of 2. I thought he'd improve our perimeter D off the bench while stretching the D. I'm fine with Jarvis Hayes though.

Kelenna would be a really nice pick up. He is definitely strong enough to guard SFs too.

Hayes is an extremely streaky shooter, when he is hot he is real hot when he is cold he is downright horrible.

We will most likely resign Herrmann as he is less streaky and more versatile than Hayes, plays good D, and is restricted.

That GS guy could back up JJ. I'd like to have him for that purpose. Anyway, like pretty much any other player on that team, he has horrible shot selection and his D isn't that good from the few games I saw him play this season.

Kelenna would be a huge addition to the Hawks, he can backup the 2 and the 3 is cheap, young and improve our 3point shooting. We could play with Bibby, Kelenna and JJ at the same time and would be the first time we can be a threat from 3 point line.

I know some of you would disagree but for me the perfect scenario would be to trade

Josh Smith for Biedrins and Azubuike.

Pistons fan here. Just say no to Jarvis. I've loved watching your team this playoffs and the last thing this team needs is a player like Jarvis. He has no defense, and is too streaky to be counted on. Good luck in game 7

Do you all think Atlanta will re-sign Childress? I haven't watched a lot of Childress, but when I have - I thought he was one of your better players.

I would love him on Portland if they can sign him as a FA.
