Best. Crowd. EVER!

Post#1 » by High 5 » Sat May 3, 2008 4:38 am

At least close enough for me. Say what you want about Atlanta fans, but we all came out and represented the city well this series. Tonight's record crowd made for the best environment I have ever been apart of. Big props to everyone who has made one of the games and if the Hawks allow it, I'll be back to boo LeBron. If not, still a great step in the right direction for this franchise.

I made Game 1, thanks solely to evilDallas, whose seats are getting better every playoff game. :D
I made tonight a must to be there after regretting missing Game 2.
What an atmosphere! The crowd around me was as exhausted as the effort the team gave.

The Hawks have this city's support. Souvenirs were flying off the rack tonight.

Everything is awesome in the ATL tonight!

The crowd was cool....but why does you announcer entice chants? Cant the crowd do it?

Atlanta fans need to be warned when we're on defense or let's go Hawks. Jealous much?

Are you kidding me? I haven't been to an arena where the announcer *didn't* do that.

Anyway, I've been to Finals playoff games in San Antonio, and the crowd tonight was even louder and more energy than that. It was unbelievable. Especially compared to the regular season games we've been to over the years; I'm very happy that the people of Atlanta are showing up.

These playoff games really brought out a great crowd in Atlanta. Im really happy for you guys as fans. Its nice to see Atalanta sports finally having some good fortune. Im also really happy for those Hawks players who now have a packed arena to play in front of all of the sudden. Just imagine how many more wins you might have had this season if the arena was that packed night in and night out. hopefully this starts to make that a reality.

Congrats on the success so far, and good luck the rest of the way

Tonight's game was UNBELIEVABLE

I was bout tipsy as hell and by the end of the 1st half, me and my boys walked out to the portal 5 smoking section.... it was like the damn club out there, balls to the walls forreal, I have NEVER seen it like that before. It was so packed you couldn't get in or out, everybody was just stuck for a few minutes it was crazy.

The crowd was bananas. I went down the floor during the last 20 seconds, best decision I ever made, met Jarrett Jack, saw Glenn Robinson, and walked onto the floor for a brief moment at the end of the game before security kindly asked me to back up.

The atmosphere was amazing tonight.

It's great to see Phillips like that and the crowd supporting the Hawks all the time. ATL loves basketball and the Hawks. We just want to have a good team to cheer for. If you guys watched any games on TV, I mean at any arena in these playoffs, no crowd has been more exciting than ours. Congrats Hawks fans !
GO HAWKS.

Yeah I was at the game and the was the best phillips crowd for a game i've attended. Coming out of the game was crazy too. They were heckling a couple of guys with Pierce jerseys. Then they said something stupid (I couldnt hear) and one dude got stomped out after we got outside.
why was hakeem called "the dream"??"

Because it rhymes with 'Olajuwon'.

^^^ That's a big difference. Back in 99 after losing the first home game to the Knicks the crowd leaving the game was more Knick fan than Hawk fan. This time around the fans numbers were clearly in the Hawks favor. There were still some fans of the road team in attendance (as one would expect in such a large crowd), but they were a lot less brash than they were last weekend.

Word up, when i went to the Hawks game against the Pistons at the beginning of he season, I swear 75% of the crowd was cheering for the pistons. Im so proud of the Players and the fans.
