Here was the most improbable moment on the way to the most improbable Game 7 in NBA playoff history. Late Friday night, late in a series that should

This is why it was so crucial for them to close us out last night. There is an incredible amount of pressure on them right now. If we keep the game close through three quarters I think they will start to lose their flow and played too tight. Which is exactly what happened in games 3, 4, and 6. I've been surprised at Boston's crunch time play this series, they have not made big plays down the stretch.

I think you brought up a nice point when you mentioned JJ's defense. Not only last night but through the series, he's been great against Pierce, and no one else but Pierce can create his own shot and make plays for others for Boston. I think that has a lot to do with the way we've been able to stay in the games in the 4th. Just watch how easy Pierce score on Marvin. It's actually the worst example of how to play good D, and then compare to JJ's defense. It's like the opposite.

Maybe I'm naive, but I expect a fairly officiated game (well except for KG's fouls being given to other Celtics again). Stern should realize that a public screw job will hurt the league with fans more than a Boston-LA series would help. After last year's Spurs-Suns debacle and then the Donaghy reffing scandal, this might be the best time to get a fair shake.

Stern also has to have faith that the Celtics can win at home on their own. If the refs have to help them over this hurdle, then they'll probably have to carry them the entire way to get his dream series.

You are beyond naive.

Have you not been paying attention to the officiating this entire series?

Celtics have gotten away with loose ball fouls, moving screens, charges, etc while Hawks get charged for BS touch fouls, charges on blocking fouls, traveling while being fouled, etc.

THe officiating has been especially poor in Boston and in a game 7 with the prestige on the line, I certainly expect to see overwhelmingly poor calls

And there was surely no questionable calls against the Celtics in game 6. The refs in game 6 were trying to screw the hawks in game 6 but the hawks overcame the odds ;)

(But honestly Calls aside the Hawks did stick it to the C's in the 4th and i respect them for that)

I've grown to expect bad officiating and just hope it happens evenly for both teams.

Watching it from courtside, I can say that in Game 6, several fouls that should have been called on KG were improperly given to other Celtics by the officials. This isn't new stuff. Star protection happens all year long and Posey gets a foul that was clearly committed by a star. The ironic part is that at least on of them was given to Pierce. Guess the refs protected the wrong guy.

You want to even out the free throw count, try not settling for jumpers so much as a team. Even on most of Rondo's drives he doesn't try to go to the hole, but rather circles underneath looking for a pass out for a jumper.

Commissioner David Stern has endured one Finals bust after another, but the prospects of preserving a collision course for the top-seeded Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers could inspire him to throw on a striped shirt Sunday and come down to the Garden floor himself."

The NBA better not screw us.

LOL.. be careful, it just might happen

Go Hawks!!

This is up there with one of the dumbest posts ever. That's right, David Stern rigged the lotto and sent two of the greatest NBA prospects ever to the Pacific Northwest on purpose where no one would see them, not to mention one of the franchises was in limbo.

Think about what you just said, why would Stern fix the NBA Draft for teams like San Antonio and Portland/Seattle? It's HILARIOUS how the fans of EVERY team think Stern is out to get them. The Suns fans changed everything last season when they opened up the door for not just coaches to be blamed for a team's failure, but also the commissioner.

By my count he hates every single team in the league other than the Spurs. The Cleveland fans say he is anti-Lebron (WHAT?), the Celtics fans think he hates them for some inexplicable reason, the Magic/Sixers fans hate him for putting their teams on NBA TV.

Why would Stern fix the league for the Spurs? A team that plays a boring style to the casual fan, has no marketable stars, and plays in a small market? I'm so tired of people blaming Stern for everything, ESPECIALLY fans from teams like NYK and Boston. If he was going to fix anything, it would be in their favor!

It really is silly, isn't it? Stern rigged the league to give Ewing to the Knicks, then 12 years later, rigged the lottery to give Duncan to... San Antonio? Over BOSTON?! Who would believe such absurdity? Oh, that's right. Boston fans.

Now the NBA not only worked overtime to deprive the Cs of Oden, Durant or Horford, but they're really trying to screw them for trying to beat the vaunted Atlanta Hawks in the first round! What a-holes!

If this doesn't show the absurd, childlike tendencies of New England sports fans, there's nothing that will.

If you think for one second that you've been screwed by the refs more than us, you are delusional, period. There have been so many TERRIBLE calls against the Hawks it is absolutely ridiculous. Quit making excuses, all your team does is take jumpshots, there lies your problem. The fact that you are making up excuses because your 66 win team is getting schooled by ours tells you what is really happening on the floor.
