He was the 2nd best bench producer this year at 11.6/game? I had to go to Philips to see that stat on the big board.
Is this true? I know who the top 6 man was this past year, but what do you think Chills' agent is saying about that stat to ASG?

No it's not true. Off the top of my head you have Gordon,Barbosa,and Ginobili who score way more than that. You also have to factor in that Chil plays 30 minutes a game. It's not like J.R. Smith who plays regular backup minutes(like Zaza) and comes in and scores 20 like it's nothing. Chil is basically a starter.

Barbosa and McCants both scored more than him off the bench.

I'm sure his agent knows that if he asks for Ginobili money based on the fact that Chil scores more than most "bench" players.

^ Me too. I don't think he will get that much playing time next year on the Wolves since it looks like they will most likely draft a PG and they already have Foye at the PG/SG, and they may keep Telfair since he improved there.

Josh is going to get at $8mil per year as his average; or his max salary on a 5 year deal....

I highly doubt there is a team dumb enough to give Chil $8 million a year even if they had the cap space.

40million over 5 years...

or start at MLE level of 5million per year for 5 years, which end at 8million... for about 32million over 5 years.

Nelson was overpaid and Chris Wilcox had a monster run the last 2 months in a contract season in a league where big men are always overpaid.

I'm not even sure there's many teams who can even offer Childress him $8 million a year. He will more than likely be a MLE player.

With Isiah gone I agree with you.

However, if someone does value Chillz that highly we could get some really nice value back in an S&T.

Expect someone to offer their full MLE to Childress structured as a bit of a front load, which if he signs as an offer sheet we could match. There are few teams that can exceed the MLE and they have greater needs. A lot of teams have the MLE to throw around and he shows the potential to be a complimentary player who might be able to start and do the dirty work on a team that has primary scorers. He could possibly be seen as a starting SF. The key will be the structure of the contract trying to make the first year a little more expense to push us into luxury tax if we match.

I would expect him to get offered the full MLE which will probably average around 7m/yr for 5 yrs.

Do you guys think Atlanta would go a little over that to match?

Also, has Childress ever complained about not starting?

Childress needs to hit the road. We need someone who can make more than 1 jumper a game in 30 minutes.

You want someone to hit a jumper, sign a jump shooter. No need to tell one of the more valuble guys on the team that he needs to hit the road because he doesn't take jumpers.

Although I would focus that money that he is goign to get on Eduardo Najara. he has sneaky range on his jumper, is a hustle guy like Childress and would give us some defensive spunk on the front court.

But to just get rid of a VERY productive player is just dumb.

What is dumb is not realizing that money is an issue.

Our owners are suing each other and the ASG owns only 70% of the team but they are paying 100% of the bills. The reason they had to form a group to buy the team is because they didn't have that much money in the first place. They aren't going to pay the luxury tax and that is what they will have to do if they resign both Joshs and fill the holes in the roster.

Shooters can be had for a league minimum. They aren't that hard to find.

We have $51.7 million in salaries committed before resigning the Joshs. So explain to me how we can resign both Joshs and make additions to the roster without paying the luxury tax.
