Out of the names you mention Patrick, Dennis Lindsey is the one that I'm most comfortable with, and feel he's right for the job. We need someone that's experience overall and Dennis provides us with that. Jerry West on the other hand would be nice but I doubt he wants anything to do with a group like the ASG.
I'd like for us to stay away from Billy King.

Probably a moot point since we're down to 2 according to 790 the Zone, but why did Chris Grant's name keep popping up and nary a consideration for his co-Cavs Asst GM (and former Spurs scouting director) Lance Blanks? I didn't think the Knicks have locked him down yet, and he seems to me like the next best fit after Lindsey.

West was mediocre in Memphis IMO. He had some good moves(trading for Gay and Mike Miller)and some bad moves(using 2 1st rounders on complete flops like Jones and Bell in 1 draft and signing Brian Cardinal). Even Red Auerbach made some pretty bad moves when he got up there in age.
Lindsey could be the Hawks version of Kevin Prtichard or Sam Presti. I'd rather hire someone who Popovich or Buford thought was good enough to be an assistant GM over someone who Billy Knight or Pete Babcock thought was good enough to be a GM. I also don't want anyone who has proven their incompetence in Billy King.

Apparently, Geoff Petrie was approached by the Hawks to be their new GM, but denied their offer and decided to remain with the Kings.

Lindsey just announced he is staying in San Antonio and has withdrawn his name from consideration.
Just supposition on my part, but could the refusals and withdrawals be tied to strings involving head coach? Or perhaps the boss by committee nature of the ownership is scary candidates off?

I would imagine it has more to do with our ownership being in limbo. These guys probably don't want to take the risk of Belkin getting the team and then getting fired next summer. I sure hope ASG aren't telling these GM's that Woody is staying put no matter what, that definetely would be a turn off.
