I just had some thoughts on the Bulls getting the number one pick. I was pulling for Memphis and Seattle to get Rose/Beasley out of the East. Looks like both will be in the East...and Bulls were a very good team without one of those guys.

I think a healthy Miami and Chicago will make a strong playoff push. Our offseason just became even more critical if we don't want to slide backwards.

Probably the worst outcome (in some sense) for the lottery for the Hawks.

Bibby/Claxton -for- Hinrich/Hughes.

Please no Larry Hughes.

This is no good for us. The East is going to be back to normal next year. Chicago and Miami will be right back in the mix.

I see Indiana, Charlotte, and possibly Washington falling off the map next year.

I don't see the #1 pick being a guarantee that Chicago deals Hinrich. It seems more likely to me that they draft Beasley to get the low post scorer they have coveted for some time.

Tyrus Thomas might be the guy the Bulls try and move.

Checking the Bulls board and they're fans seem to be around 90% for Rose.

Hughes blows. He only scored 12 ppg shooting 39% even after the trade.

If the Bulls do trade Hinrich they can probably get better offers from other teams because we wouldn't trade Smith or Horford for him.

Beasley probably should be the pick for them but you can't go wrong with him or Rose.

Mike D'Antoni cramped his pants when he found out the Bulls would get the first pick.

I saw his face when they announced the Knicks would get the sixth pick. He looked like "F--k me!"

Deng needs a decent PG to create for him

Someone like Rose is essential to having an efficient Deng

Good PGs dont come available that often

Bulls should take Rose & move Kirk to SG

Also: Bulls were in no hurry to hire a coach. Mike D could have waited until today to pick his team

most of them probably just want Rose because he is from chicago. I would think that Beasley is a better pick. but then again, i dont follow the Bulls like they do and they would know their needs better than I would. But Im still guessing they are picking Rose over Beasly because he is a hometown kid.

The hometown theory means nothing to Chicago.

Bulls sell out every game so they donr need a hometown attraction,

In fact former GM Jerry Krause deliberately would not draft Chicago guys. He passed on Michael Finley only for that reason. Krause later made an exception for Eddy Curry

Paxson probably has no problem having a Chicago native - but he certainly would not choose Rose JUST for that reason.

I think he'll take Rose because Bulls need a good PG

I agree that Indiana and Charlotte will probably not do much in the offseason to make them better teams, same for NY.

But I think Philly is built very well and they can sign a max player this offseason (rumor is Elton Brand), even if they don't get him, they're a definite playoff team in the east and they were coached MUCH better than us last year.

With the additions of Miami and Chicago to the playoff mix, east will be much tougher (and probably for years to come).

I can't stand Hughes game. I prefer Speedy as absent as he is than having Hughes on this team. The guy sucks big time, so OVERRATED. There's no way the Bulls won't trade some players depending on their selection. Guys like Kirk, Gordon, Deng, Noncioni, and Hughes can't exist on the same team when you add either a PG or a SF. Now, you got to love the NBA lottery. It's just like, do not tank, cause the worst team has a lot of trouble landing the #1 pick, though the Heat got lucky with that #2.

If Beasley comes in at a legit 6'10 like people are saying, it might be tough to pass him up. He would make them really tough to defend because he can create for himself in the frontcourt and draw the extra defender.

So here is a question. lets say Chicago zeros in on Rose. Would you trade Josh Smith for the number 2 pick in the draft and take Beasley?

Personally, I think Beasley is going to be a garnett type offensively. He isn't big enough to get as dep as he did in college, but he has a nice midrange game, can face up and is a better rebounder than Josh. He wouldn't be the defensive force, but I think offensively we would get better and add a guy that isn't HORRID defensively.

I don't think I would do it, but I would have to think about it. Now if I could work Bibby and marion into the deal I would definately do it.

As far as Beas, I think he could be a better scorer than Garnett. He is quite a bit stronger and has more of a killer instinct. On the other hand, he isn't even close to being the ball-handler or passer KG is and the passing is what makes him special on offense.

He was a huge rebounder in college, then again, so was Durant. Rebounding in the NBA takes a lot of effort.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's gonna be a really special talent. People compare him to Coleman but he has shown a lot more potential than even Coleman did coming out of college which is really saying something. I think he could be a real offensive juggernaut, if I were Miami I'd consider taking him first if they had the pick just because he should draw a double from day 1.
