maybe Portland.His contract isn't much of a problem since it's expiring.

EVERYONE. He's an enormous expiring contract. That's one of the most valuable trade commodities in the league.

I still say the Hawks should look at what the Knicks would give up to swap Marbury for Bibby.

I think we should keep Bibby unless Acie shows that he is ready to be the starter.

Why? Marbury is one of the biggest losers in modern sports history. All he does is bring discontent and losing. Every time he leaves a team, that team improves dramatically.

And he is better than Bibby. If the Knicks will give the hawks something good to take on the better player then I would seriously listen to it. I don't value bibby much more than an expiring contract which is what Marbury is and is really what the Hawks gave up for Bibby in the first place.

I believe the Knicks are hoping to use any assets they have to help get rid of Curry and/or Randolph's contracts.

I don't know what they'd give us for taking Marbury but I can't imagine it'd be much.

I know that the Knicks organization is probably ready to be DONE with Marbury after everythign that went down. (but I don't think thats marbury's fault- its just a horrid franchise) And Mike D'Antoni already was Marbury's coach in phoenix and shipped him out for not much talent in return as I recall. I'd just say the Knicks have extra motivation to get rid of marbury and bibby's shooting may be a good fit for the new offense there.

The thing about Marbury is you never know what he is capable of and getting out of New York would be the best thing for him. Getting back to Atlanta might be good becuase this is where it all started for Marbury.

Marbury would definetely have a good year for us. Not only would he be home, he'd actually be motivated for once because he'd want to prove himself. And he's an expirer.

The Knicks have no incentive to trade Marbury straight up for Bibby because Marbury is expiring as well. Their goal is cap room in a couple years and that means moving Randolph/Curry/Crawford/Jeffries rather than Marbury who is as good as gone at the end of the year whether he plays a minute this year or not.

Not everyone would want Bibby either. You have to be a team looking to dump a bad commitment of salary. This could be one player with a large deal like Jermaine O'Neal or Michael Redd. Two smaller commitments like TJ Ford/Jason Kapono or Mike Miller/Brian Cardinal. Or one dump and another incentive piece like Larry Hughes/Joakim Noah.

Marbury is already home(unless you were talking about Ga Tech?) and is making a fool of himself. The guy is a coach killer. He had a father-son relationship with Isiah and couldn't even get along with him. You think Woody(who is a nobody)can control Marbury if legends Isiah and Larry Brown can't? The attitude doesn't bother be as much because I would have killed to have Marbury on the Hawks 5-6 years ago but bad attitude+declining skills is an awful mix. I don't see why any one would want this guy. He's coming off two consecutive season ending injuries so there's no telling how good or athletic he's going to be at 31 last year. The last time he was the primary focus of the offense was 2005...the chances that he can STILL do those same things(and I'm quite sure he can't do them for 82 games)are about the same as Steve Francis being able to drop 20/5/5 again. The only situation remotely similar to this is when GS traded expirings for Baron Davis..but then again Baron was 5 years younger and was an MVP candidate in the previous year.

Along with the fact that he's always been a malcontent and doesn't have same 1st step that he used to...the guy has gone crazy. Why do you think he would have any chip on his shoulder? He said he wants to go to Italy after his contract is up and that was BEFORE his dad died(R.I.P but when is the last time a player took several WEEKS off for a death in the family). Do you really thinks basketball is a priority for him? I'm not a Bibby fan but expecting Marbury to help lead the Hawks to more wins than Bibby is ridiculous.

huh?Marbury went to Tech but he's from New York.Same place his cousin Sebastian Telfair came from.and who the hell would want Marbury anyway?.....oh wait never mind I see lol.Marbury would be horrible.He acts a damn fool in his REAL home town, he was here for like what one year?that aint gonna help anything.

Y'all see Ray Allen's movie He Got Game?he played a b ball player from Coney Island and even mentioned Marbury.He went to LIncoln High,same school Telfair came straight from.

I know he's from NY. I meant this is where he exploded on to the national scene and became a household name. Mabey we could get Bobby Cremins and he would be able to control him.

HG- do you think Marbury is an upgrade over Bibby when motivated? Because if he is, there is no reason not to do it since he's not an expiring deal.

And as for not getting along with a "legend." I wouldn't consider Larry Brown's time in NY or anything Isiah Thomas ever did off the court to be worthy of that term.

Marbury is not a 3pt shooter.

We're probably going to have to hope Bibby comes back healthy next season. The potential he has if healthy beats the pants off of giving him away.

Maybe at mid-season, we can trade him (his contract would be even more attractive then) if Acie shows up.
