more Gordon talk

Post#1 » by Harry10 » Tue Jul 1, 2008 6:17 pm

i'm not sure what CHI will do with their current guard situation and Gordon might ask for a S&T to a team that will pay him and give him PT and a starting spot.

i'm not sure if their are alot of teams interested in Gordon because his lack of PG skills, but the Hawks are one of the few teams that can use a PG who doesn't have PG skills.

Bibby and a first round pick for S&T Gordon?

the only other teams i can think of that might be interested in Gordon as a starter is maybe CLE and MIA.

I am not at all interested in having BG on this team. He is a one dimensional player who won't work next to Joe in the backcourt.

I'd rather have K. Hinrich.
GO HAWKS.

^ Kirk has the same problems Bibby has.... that is why he is #1 on the list for Bulls fans to get rid of

We wouldn't trade a guard for another guard unless its OJ Mayo or someone like that, definetely not Bibby. We don't need any more guards.

We could use another quard or two; we just don't need a guard making $10M and underachieving.
That describes Hinrich and possibly Bibby.

Gordon just isn't a fit here any more than he is in Chicago; he needs to come off the bench and be a dynamo, like Ginobli. But he is going to want to start and command starter's money.

It just doesn't fit in the salary structure here.

Gordon will probably receive a contract that will only harm the future of our franchise. We can find a cheaper option(s) that can be just as serviceable.

I think people on this board underate Bibby's point guard skills. He isn't Nash or Paul or even Dre' Miller but he is a hell of a lot better at running an offense than Ben Gordon will ever be... Ben is nothing special as a facilitator for a shooting guard. Joe is nice in that you can have another combo-guard play next to him but I'd hardly call Gordon a combo guard, he is a shooting guard. Hinrich is a combo-guard.

I think Bibby is a better PG than Woodson is a coach at least offensively. Hinrich is better than Bibby on D, but Bibby gets the offensive edge when healthy. Hinrich did have a bad year, but his best season PER was close to Bibby's previous season low.

Ben Gordon is a SG. He may have some PG skills, but not enough to play PG for meaningful time and not hamper the rest of the team. He is also woeful on D. I like his ability to turn it on in the 4th quarter, but that's about it.
