Is there any way we could trade Josh Smith ( hell, and j chills rights) for Andrew Bynum?

If the Lakers offer Bynum in a deal for Josh Smith I would have to assume that his injury is far worse than thought and he'll never be the same. Legitimate Cs just aren't dealt unless there are outside factors or they're perceived to have nothing left in the tank.

No there is no way we can get Bynum for Smith.

To pry Bynum from our hands you would have to greatly overpay, something like:

Josh Smith (S&T @ $9.75 million starting with max raises for 6 years), Horford, ZaZa and Claxton

for

Bynum, Trevor Ariza, Chris Mihm, Luke Walton, and Vladimir Radmanovic

That would probably force the Lakers to do the trade, but I don't see why Atlanta would want to do that. Therefore it probably wouldn't make sense to do a Josh Smith for Bynum swap.

But a Josh/Horford offer would defintely make Mitch flinch.

Horford is every bit as untouchable as Bynum, IMHO.

I doubt Lakers will give him up, but I don't even want Bynum to be honest. There are still questions on whether or not he can bounce back and play as well as he did last year after sustaining such a serious injury.

Just put some logic ad you will see that he is:

Horford is the only good player we ATL has, while LAL already has Gasol, so yes, Horford is untouchable for ATL as Bynum is for LAL, even if Bynum has more value than Horford

Horford is as valuable to the Hawks as Bynum is to L.A if not more valuable. Add the fact that Bynum is coming off a major knee injury and there is no way I trade Horford and Smith for Bynum, no way in hell.

You guys are crazy. Horford is nowhere close to being as untouchable as Bynum. Bynum is a young center that has shown serious potential as a franchise player. That's about as untouchable as anyone is going to get.

Bynum may be more untouchable overall but as far as the Hawks that are untouchable, you have JJ and then Horford. People screaming Bynum, Bynum, must not realize the type of injury he has to overcome.

You are just using a different view. I never said that Horford is more untouchable than Bynum, but he's untouchable for ATL like Bynum is for LAL.

Smith is actually the only real good big on ATL, Horford certainly has potential there though.

Sort of underscores the point that Horford is "untouchable" til he asks for mo money, then he can either take a hike or we'll trade him to one of those teams that will be willing to pay for him... what are they called again? Contenders?

I did not talk about Smith because I was more thinking about a guy who can play C, at least a player between PF ad C if not a real C, while Smith is between PF and SF.
There is Zaza, but for the first time since years, ATL got a guy with potential.

Lets be realistic about Bynum... Yes, he has shown some great talent but people are making it out like he's basketball Jesus. He played very well for a relatively small window of time. There are plenty of very average players who had a very good 35 game stretch... It is possible that he will be a great center in the league but I'm not ready to anoint him just yet. Not to mention Bynum is coming off a season ending injury, so the jury is still out on how well he recovers.

While there are a few insane individuals who praised Bynum as if he's a HoF lock, most people are just using the wait and see approach. If you have a 20 year old center who's averaged 13 and 10, and for a 14 game stretch was getting 15/12/2.5, you wouldn't be so willing to see him traded either.
