No particular order Top 10 (when healthy):
Kobe Bryant
Lebron James
Chris Paul
Dwight Howard
Kevin Garnett
Yao Ming
Dwyane Wade
Tim Duncan
Steve Nash
Carlos Boozer
Those are the top ten players in the league IMO. Joe Johnson is elite, but he's not as elite as these players. I'm not hatin', I'm just trying to be realistic. Joe Johnson is still one of those rare players that you can build a team around.

Joe Johnson is in the top 15. Top 3 SG behind Kobe and Wade IMO.
Kobe Bryant
Lebron James
Chris Paul
Dwight Howard
Kevin Garnett
Tim Duncan
Yao Ming
Dwyane Wade
Steve Nash
Deron Williams
Joe Johnson
Carlos Boozer
Elton Brand
Amare Stoudemire
Chris Bosh
Guys who is great, but isn't in the top 15 IMO: Dirk, Kidd, Baron Davis, Brandon Roy, Al Jefferson, T-Mac, Redd, Arenas, Melo, and Tony Parker. There not in the top 15 due to huge lack of something like D (Melo), Attitude (Arenas, though not bad, just full of it), still young (Roy, Jefferson), or getting older (Kidd). The only guy on the list of non-15 players that doesn't lack something is Tony Parker, but the reason he isn't top 15 IMO is that he is with Duncan. Would Joe Johnson be a Top 5 player if Duncan was on his team?
My top overrated player is: Paul Pierce

JJ is probably top 20. I'd take Al Jefferson over Boozer, Brand, Bosh, and even J. Kidd at this point anytime. I think if you look at it by position, JJ is probably top4 or top5. He's very good at almost everything he brings to the table.

a year or two ago Joe was ranked on the same level as Michael Redd, Kevin Martin, Deng, Manu Ginobili, Josh Howard. Joe has clearly passed them and gone to the next level. ever since the Celtic series, Joe has risen alittle, but not nessesarly to the same level as MacGrady or Carmelo, but if Joe can sustain that level he showed in the Celtics series into this season then he can easily go into that next level with Carmelo and MacGrady. i think Joe is roughly on the same level as Caron and Gilbert.

I think it depends on Mike Bibby staying healthy. If Mike can stay healthy, Joe's game will improve, because Mike is probably the one guy that can take pressure off Joe. Over time if Al is moved to the 4 I believe he could free Joe up by taking on a double team. I just don't see Josh Smith ever accomplishing this as long as his shot is streaky.

at the two
(right now
and excluding a.i)
1.kobe (best in the game pound 4 pound)
2.wade (when healthy)
3.t-mac (ditto)
3a.johnson (no weaknesses; many strengths)
4.vince (under-achiever despite gaudy #'s)
5.j-rich (gets better every year maybe the most athletic on the list)
6.ginobili (team mentality keeps him out of the top 3 imho)
7.b-roy (so far, so good...)
8.ray allen (see: this years championship)
9.rip hamilton (game has become a bit unbridled of late; mid range not as
automatic as years past)
10.j-craw (not efficient but will take and make the big shot; reggie miller with a handle.
feel free to attack me on that...and yeah im a knick fan)
11.mike redd/miller (better pure scorers as opposed to pure shooters than given credit for;
miller hits the boards well and is an underated orchestrator and team player. redd can carry a team offensively; best catch and shoot guy in the league. both are poor defenders, henceforth....their respective rankings)
mr. johnson?
top 20 player overall in the league? without question
top 15? i'd say right on the fence

The Suns did not want to keep Joe. At least not at that price.

His skillset ranks in the top 10. There aren't many players with his handles who can score from anywhere on the court with efficiency. His little floater is about as good as it gets. Good passer, solid defender. Great size and strength. His stamina is also tops.
What makes him a notch below Kobe, LeBron, Wade, etc. is his mentality. You see flashes of his killer instinct, but a lot of the times he seems to settle. I wish he could change the way he is, but I don't see that happening. Still a great player.
The Suns didn't doubt his ability, they just already had three All Stars they had to pay.

Ur very right. He has flashes of excellence and then fades away for a little while. I hope and I think he will develop a better insticnt and be able to take over games this season. Hes to good not to learn what he needs to do. Just imagine how many more games we will win if he decides to take over, not scoring 20 in a loss but 40 in a win. CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT HE DOES!!
