Wow....we are going to have to get out of the gate really quick. We open the season against Orlando @ Orl on October 29th. The first regular season home game is Nov. 1st vs. Philly.

Our first six out of eight games are on the road. And five of those teams are playoff teams from the previous year.

The league will released the full schedule for all 30 teams later today.....please post on here if you happen to see it before I do.

I wouldn't be too worried. We opened up last year against Mavericks, Pistons, Nets, Celtics, Suns, etc.

Ouch I feel for you guys, five playoff teams plus most on road is pretty lame way to start. I hope they release all schedules at midnight, I don't want to wait till morning.

Edit: It's coming at 9 AM PST, lame.

I think I'd rather start the season with tough games that you aren't expected to win. Much better than dropping a game to a lousy team that you would normally beat if it weren't the first week of the season. Early on the scores are so random- I think its far better to be the underdog.

One real national tv game on Dec 17 on ESPN. Probably a bunch of other NBATV games not scheduled yet.

Interesting schedule....

We may have one of the shortest West coast trips (Jan. 13-16)

And ironically, we start in the West coast after the All-Star break...it seems like we always have to go West right after the break.

Good to see that we get the Texas Triangle on the road out of the way early on (Dec. 6 -10th)

Wonder why we have to play Miami in Boston and Memphis in Madison Square Garden (the last game of the season)?

We gotta get out of the gate fast though...no doubt!

^NBA has something new up it sleeves again. Every team have two games where they at at neutral sites.

Wonder if we'd have more national tv games if Josh Smith had been re-signed before the schedule came out? We do have one Thursday game which often get televised nationally because only 3 games are normally scheduled on Thursday (2 TNT, 1 NBATV)

The month of February is a killer. On the 11th travel up to Detroit for the 2nd half of a back-to-back then the all-star break followed by the 5 game west coast trip that ends in Boston against Miami? BTW, this trip always happens because of the Circus during February.

The Miami scheduling sucks. Game 1 is at the end of the Texas road trip down in Miami. Game 2 is in Miami after hosting Phoenix the night before. Then there is the game in Boston at the end of the long road trip. Finally we get them really at home the night before the season finale against Memphis in New York.

We have 20 2nd night of back-to-back games. I haven't checked to see how many other teams have, but these are notoriously tough to win.

14 of the last 20 are at home so if the team can manage a decent record to that point (big if), they should be poised for a strong finish.

The 8 straight home games in December might present a problem for me since I normally travel around Christmas.

I still am guessing its some sort of typo. I can't be bothered to look up other sources for the schedule but I just have a hard time believing that they are actually going to have neutral site games

I've checked all 30 team schdules and some teams have two netural site games, some have one (the one being th final home game of the season), and some ironically don't have any. Maybe they have yet to schedule those teams....or it could have been a lottery type of thing and teams were drawn to either have one, two or no netural games.

This is a very interesting development.

The Hawks website now has the 2 neutral site games removed. I think this was a weird typo.

Wow! That's interesting. I guess the typo was league wide because it showed like over half the teams having netural sites.

Apparently the people in charge of the league calendar just screwed up. I can't believe it took them so long to fix that.

That is our schedule and I went through and we could win 45 games possibly more. You tell me how many games you think we could realistically win, assuming Josh Smith comes back. Please share your thoughts.

Are you serious? The topic was one or two down the forum list... viewtopic.php?f=7&t=831222

And how could you even say we could win 45 or more? We're not even sure if Smith is coming back yet, and we just barely won above 35 last year with him. As long as Woodson is our coach and the ASG owns this team, we will never know how we will do in the future. Never.
