ANY Solo News?

Post#1 » by lethalweapon3 » Thu Aug 14, 2008 3:45 am

Curious if he's working out with other Hawks/NBA players this summer, assuming he's working on his game at all. I imagine he has potential to see much more PT this season if the roster stays as-is and Smoove or Horford get into foul trouble.

ahahahha! i got the first view on this topic!!.....

but yes he should come off the bench before Morris, zaza is the only big off the bench in front of him, and if his game regressed any more i doubt he would be ahead of Solo for much longer

i heard he put on 35lbs, got an 18ft jump shot and surprisingly grew 1 inch........jk

i'm a big fan, Solo has all the tools to make it in the NBA, and i think he will one day get a big NBA contract, i'm just not sure if it will be with the Hawks. sometimes i think Solo's career might take the same path that PJ Brown, or Billups took

I saw Solo at the arena last week actually. He looked a bit bigger and it's just good to see him working on his game. It's time for him to prove he's worth keeping or he can kiss the NBA goodbye.

yep, but so did Darius Miles and Kwame Brown. It all depends on how much work he puts in.

I don't necessary think he needs to come off the bench before Morris. It depends on how they do during practice and actual game play. I still feel Solo has a very low IQ for the game and he always looks clueless when he steps on the court. Morris may have the drive to be a better player. Solo has to be in the best shape I have ever seen him in. So, I hope he really worked on his game, and finally proves he's worth keeping.

I'd say he has the athleticism to entice other NBA teams if the Hawks were to cut ties with him (not a good move imo). His showing of his abilities to stay in the NBA in limited minutes of the playoffs could open eyes out there.

He'd probably be on a summer league team, but he really needs to start proving himself, and I seriously doubt a true contender would give him a serious look. So, if a team does have interest, it would probably be from one of the worse teams that need to fill a roster spot. I just don't see much to smile about with him and not many teams are looking for low IQ players.

I hope he proves himself and I would really like for him to stay with us. So, I'm not trying to completely come off like I'm knocking him, because I like him, but we can't continue to wait for him to live up to his potential.

He has athleticism, length and good timing on his blocks, rebounds well and play defense. He can give you 3 or 4 dunks a game playing 20mins/game on offense (and he got a good shooting stroke from what I've seen last season). I can't figure out why he can't get ahead of Zaza on the depth chart.

He could go to Europe and play there for couple of years if no contenders want him... they probably offer him more money anyway.

He has real talent -- the kind all-star centers have. Problem is, he's thin, he has poor instincts and can't keep from fouling. The refs HATE him -- he breathes too hard and they whistle him.

Solo will probably have some teams willing to take a chance on him after us. I expect him to make some summer league teams, but he's probably going to have a better opportunity playing overseas, so it's now or never for him to prove himself.

It's now or never for Solo. I really like his attitude and he seems to have some ability, but he's never shown the mental fortitutde to put it all together.
