Hawks signing Dalibor Bagaric?

Post#1 » by Gordon » Sun Aug 24, 2008 2:35 pm

If he passes medical test next week, Hawks will sign 7-foot-1 center Dalibor Bagaric to a one-year guaranteed contract. Bagaric was former first round pick of Chicago Bulls, but was out of the league once his rookie contract expired. He has gained experience playing in Europe since then, but it is highly questionable what he can bring to the team.

Bagaric is typical center, with great height, good wingspan and strong body. He is slow footed and below average athlete overall. Has some moves on the low block, but is mechanical and stiff in his movements. He can do a good job on the glass and is solid post up defender, but his lack of quickness gets exposed in screen&roll game.

Bagaric had back problems throughout his career, which decreased his durability. He is also quite foul-prone.

Where did you get this from? Love to have him cheap. I'm not sold on Zaza, Morris and Jones backing up at PF/C.

Question.

Do we have to call him by his name, or can we just call him John Edwards again?

Wasn't it Edwards who tried to dunk from the left corner and fell short of the rim?

Is this one of those 'on the cheap' deals?

We might as well see if Koncak or Priest have something left! haha

He averaged 4 and 4 in 15 minutes per game with the Italian team he played for last year. Could've found a much better center.

So wait, is this a training camp roster signing or will he stick with the team throughout the whole year?

I doubt he is coming to the Hawks, he isn't even on the training camp roster.

He's on the roster... he's on the roster not...
He's on the roster...

(edit) Is the above link a bunch of Bologna? Right now it appears Livno is right. He's on the roster NOT...

Monday, October 6, 2008

Fortitudo Bologna announced today that they have reached an agreement for next season with Dalibor Bagaric(2.16-C), who will arrive in the evening in Bologna and tomorrow he will undergo medical examinations. If he passes them the contract will take effect. the passing of which will come as usual the validity of the agreement. Bagaric sought his luck in Atlanta with the Hawks but he didn't make it there.

Seems like he can't pass his medical exams, so the Hawks may not want him anyway unless they wanna get Speedy a shopping buddy at K&G.

As a six-degrees-style aside, if he does clear, he'll be teammates in Bologna with "The Original Mike Vick," Qyntel Woods (arf! grrrr!). Q would've been a teammate of Childress' this year, but got booted from Olympiakos after getting caught with marijuana in his system during last year's Greek League championships.
