Re: I just can't help it - ATL / DAL / PORT
Hey Clipper fan here I have a quick question.
I've been cruising around reading up on every team but there is one thing that I was the confuses me greatly. Why are so many of you as Hawks fans trying to trade away Mike Bibby?
Personally thought he was the guy who helped the young guns shine and gave that experience the Hawks needed. I'm just saying Bibby still has some years on him and could help the Hawks reach the next level. I'm an outside guy looking in but at times it seems (like all fans) Bibby becomes undervauled to the Hawks.
Now if you guys were trying to blow the team up I would understand, but even that would not make sense as you have a very young as it is with veteran leadership. Don't know you guys may know something I don't, is he a cancer in the locker room?

1. many are disappointed with his defense and PG skills
2. he is on the decline
3. his greatest asset is his expiring contract
4. Acie Law

You are right, for the most part his contributions were undervalued. His presence made the offense a LOT better. He is a sieve on D which is a big problem but if we had any depth it wouldn't be as much of a problem. That being said, the main reason he gets included in so many trades is because he is one of two big contracts available to trade and Joe Johnson is likely here at least until he asks out.

Bibby was undervalued because a lot of people overrated him when we got him. The bottom line is he is a slightly above average PG with good leadership skills and the knack for hitting the big shot. That was all we needed to become a .500 team. If you go back and read old posts he was being treated like a savior, when in reality he was just a piece.
Of course the horrendous playoff performance didn't help (he was also hurting). But I was satisfied with his overall performance.

Kool by me.
I'm looking forward to your season in the East, (would hate you if you were in the West Clipper Nation all day) I started liking this team after the whole Za Za vs KG and Horford and Pierce stand-offs. I love KG to death but I always go for the under-dogs and I liked the whole "young dogs vs old dogs" type vibe of the series. KG gave you guys mad props for your efforts.
