Why not sign him as a developmental C that could be played very limited minutes even this year if necessary. He's reportedly going to Spain, I wonder what it would take to get him.

The Warriors cut him so he could officially sign that contract in Spain. The idea is that he already agreed to it.

Probably an idea too late to be possible. He's got a deal for now and I don't know if Valencia would agree to a buyout so soon,or if GSW retains some rights if he returns to the NBA. A month ago, GSW probably would have traded him for a future rd 2.

The Warriors waived him, so they also waived his rights. Had he been a Restricted free agent and signed overseas...they would still own his rights. Bad example, but like Josh Childress.
