Speedy Claxton for Jared Jeffries

both guys make the same money, but Speedy has a two year contract and Jeffries has a three year contract.

i know Jeffries doesn't have alot of supporters but i am a fan. i think he is an excellent player as long as you don't ask him to do alot of stuff.

I like Jared Jeffries. ALOT! He reminds me of a cross btwn Tayshaun Prince and Josh Childress. His addition would be a welcome one. But, I dont think Marvins absence warrants taking another long contract for a player at his position.

Mo Evans could start at the SF spot and provide the same producion that Bruce Bowen does. (Great defense, ball movement, three point shooting.)

Or we could start Solo or Zaza and just push Josh Smith over to the 3.

Adding a three year contract b4 we've decided on Marvb's future not a good idea for salary cap flexibility.

I'm surprised at the 1st 2 posts of this thread. Jeffries is a pretty awful player IMO and his contract lasts past 2010.

No compensation and we just take on Jeffries? New York would need to pad the trade with draft picks for us to take on 7 million for another season. While other teams are preparing for big free agents over the next two years, you want us to take on a horrible contract, and yet will need to strongly consider Joe's future during that time.

No. Longer contracts are not a good thing.
