Marvin for Butler

Post#1 » by FCNATL85 » Tue Nov 11, 2008 3:53 am

Would you do this?
It might take Marv + Speedy + 1t 09 for Butler and filler (to be released) .

Al - Zaza- Randolph
Smoothe - Jones - Othello
Butler - Mo
JJ -Flip-Mario
Bibby -Law

Not a bad starting 5.

Washington would be dumb to consider trading Butler. His contract is very cheap for his production. I also think trade scenarios are the farthest thing from Hawks fans minds right now.

Wizards would probably want Marvin + Law and 1st rnd, but they wont trade him anyways.

As a wizards fan, all I have to say is LOL.

It would take Josh Smith at the least, and even then I highly doubt we'd do it.

You could get Rasul Butler, Jackie Butler & Benson (Robert Guillaume).

Ummm, there's not a player on the Wizards worth Smith. (Obviously, I'm not the biggest Arenas fan).

No, its a phenomenal starting five, but its also not gonna happen.

The Hawks can't give away their 09' pick so you are asking the Wiz to trade Butler for Marvin and a potential mid-late first in two years.

And mrh is right that the Hawks would veto a Butler-Smith trade before the Wiz, but yeah, Smith for Butler+pick would probably be what is necessary to get him.

Without arguing the merits of a Butler/Marvin trade specifically I love how other fans come on RealGM boards overinflating the value of their players who happen to be playing on winless ballclubs.

RealGM.... where childish happens.

yeah, but a winless ballclub doesnt mean the player isnt worth it. Caron is an All-Star and a great player. When Joe came in we were winless, but he is still an all-star.
