that is Lebron and Kobe type of money, the way things are going it kind of looks like he is going to get it

He is getting a max contract or close to it. If the FO is smart they will lock him up this offseason for 5 years and not risk the 2010 offseason. JJ is sort of under the radar right now in terms of media. All of these teams clearing cap room are looking at him if they are not serious contenders for LeBron,Wade,Bosh.

He should get very close to that deal. He's been worth what we pay him so far, and due to his age, durability, performance, and what other players are getting, we must throw that much money at him if we want him around.

The Hawks went out on a limb to sign JJ the first time, and he proved them right. It's now time for a five-year extension.
