Following the Wizards game:

Wed, Dec 3 Memphis 7:00 pm
Fri, Dec 5 New York 7:30 pm
Sat, Dec 6 at Dallas 8:30 pm

As you can see this team will have time to rest up for the two home games. It's time to win tonight and rest later!

This is a must-win for the Hawks. However, I would assume the Wiz would also think this is a MUST-win for them also. And, honestly, I don't really think the Hawks are gonna win this one. McGee and Blatche might get their career-highs on this one.

I'll just pray I'm wrong.

But, Go Hawks!!!

Is it completely ruled out that Josh Smith wont play tonight we really could use him.

Yes, and having a completely healthy Josh Smith for the rest of the season is FAR more important than a meaningless early season game against a terrible team.

I'll be at the game tonight. With Smith out and JJ hobbling it will probably be tough.

The Wizards were due to miss those free throws at the end-they had hit 19 straight up to that.

Flip made some REALLY dumb plays. Every 1 else did what they were supposed to do for the most part with Evans/Bibby/Horford all playing particularly well.

The Hawks also committed alot of idiotic fouls. The refs were calling a very tight game(for both sides) but if you are going to foul at least try to block the shot. They had a huge amount of and 1's on touch fouls.

We blew a huge lead vs a bad team but still got the win. Hopefully this is the last time I have to see the Hawks play w/o Josh Smith for a while.

Ah man... they lost the lead, but they manage to hold the Wiz off. It's really obvious the Hawks need Smoove to gain confidence once again.

Without Josh Smith, they're 8-10th seeder (barely).
With Josh Smith, they are a playoff-caliber team.

Still, a win is a win.

Go Hawks!

Flip was really horrible, again. The Wizards made a big run right when he came in during the second half, just like last game. This time they hung on but Flip really hurt them tonight. He had 4 turnovers in only 20 minutes.

Solomon with 5 blocks in only 15 minutes.

Horford frustrates me. he can hit that midrange shot as he showed tonight. He can get that shot whenever he wants but he is usually so reluctant to take it. A lot of the times when he takes it he only does it because the shot clock is running out.

Horford has success facing guys up but for some reason keeps trying to back guys down. I hope he starts to realize where his points are coming from when he has a good scoring night. They aren't coming on back to the basket moves. He is getting them mainly from moving without the ball and hitting those midrange jumpers.

Bibby and Mo have been really hot from 3 lately. I just wish Mo could make a layup. He has really struggled to finish inside.

It was nice for Atlanta to get a couple of and-1's at the end there. It seems like we give up about 10 and-1's a game and never get any of our own.

Some much needed rest now await this team and Josh Smith should be back against Memphis.

can somebody give my guy Serious Jones more PT? 15 minutes? No Zaza? No J.Smith? & 15 minutes?

this guy can defend, rebound & is a serious shotblocker.

is the Hawks frontcourt that good or do you all consider him that bad? because i see room for some PT, and tonight he didnt get it despite performing.

Somehow the two statements contradict each other. Anyway, 15 mins is a lot for Solo for Woody standards, but I agree that the guy deserve some more PT to help the weak interior D.

Looking around the league Boston beat Charlotte and The Clippers beat Miami. However, Orlando did win, but it's good to see that we won on a night that two of our division rivals didn't. I fully expect Orlando to win the Southeast, but it would be nice to see us put some breathing room between us, and the rest of the Southeast.

the last two games really impressed me.

Hawks are playing in tough conditions against good teams, and still taking it all the way down to the wire.

Joe can't shoot worth crap, but i love how he has been able to do other things to get the team to win, like pass, rebound, defend. and you can definatly see that when you look at the balance in scoring for the Hawks.

^^I thought Joe's hurting, that's why he's been terrible lately. Hawks should be given like one game off (maybe this coming matchup vs Memphis?) to let those legs relax.

I don't know about you guys, but I'd rather let the guy miss a game than let him play through grueling pain in the next 66 games.

no that's just Woodson being the idiot that he is. It's the same reason why Flip gets so much playing time yet he sucks and hurts the team but Acie sits on the bench when he's clearly outplayed Flip for like the last 6-10 games. Flip should def, never run the point.

Solo has played well yet Woody plays Marvin at PF where he should never be and he starts Zaza at C where he should never be.

knew it had to be something.. watched jones @ s.florida, always liked him as a shotblocker, has the quickness & strength to play adequate D on the leagues bigger forwards, but just hasnt got the time since coming to ATL, stitched to the bench first 2 seasons.

wasnt trying to contradict myself, first statement is what i know of Solomons game, 2nd statement, is getting a consensus of ATL's opinions on the kid. He has a couple 9/10 rebound games, and w/ PT avg's 3+ bpg. all under 30minutes off the bench.

always thought ATL's weakness was interior D, they should go w/ a big rotation of Horf/Zaza/S.Jones

never knew they've been playing Marvin @ the 4.. interesting.. His game is built for the small forward spot, your taking away from him making him exertt energy vs. bigs.

Solo is playing plenty of minutes right now. I hope Woody continues to give him PT depending on the matchups.

Flip struggled last night but I think we have to realize what we're getting with him. When he's on offensively he's a nice piece off the bench, otherwise he's not very helpful offensively. He's always been a streaky player so I don't see any reason to get up in arms about a few bad offensive performances from him.

We're 10-6 and Josh Smith is coming back. Nothing wrong with that.
