Visiting Atlanta - seeing Hawks-Bulls

Post#1 » by Chris Morris » Mon Dec 22, 2008 6:26 pm

Two part question

1. What to do in Atlanta for fun? (Friend and I are both 21+)

2. Where can we get tixx cheaper than what Ticketmaster wants ($16 per person :( )?

I would say the nightlife is rampant. Great strip clubs as well... But is $16.00 a ticket is causing you to fret perhaps a visit to the Varsity might be more in line. (No Joking the Varsity is a good stop)

Have a great time and if you can dig deep try the Aquarium or the King Tut Exhibit...

While we're on the subject, have any of you ever visited the MLK, Jr. Center?

$16 certainly isn't going to break the bank...it's just that I'm a Nets fan and you don't have to pay more than $5 to get into a Nets game most nights (no joke).

Is it worth a visit, or is it touristy?

Ha, I decided to go see a nets game but I didn't have a ticket and the guy next to me on the port authority bus sold me a ticket 15 rows back for "whatever cash I had in my pocket" which turned out to be $11.37. VC ended up abusing us in that game (last season, you remember) but it was a fun night.

I'm always downtown so I like to visit the tomb once a year or so. I felt like the museum could have more. Theres normally no one around when I go.

With fees it comes out to $16 :( Looks like I'm going to have to stop being such a jew.

Any other suggestions for fun and/or food? Please tell me there's a delicious soul food place in the city.

MLK center could use some work, it isnt as nice as I orginally expected partly due to free admission. It's a good place to check out though.
