Denver @ Atlanta - Dec 29th

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Sun Dec 28, 2008 6:20 pm

Denver starts a four game road trip today. Carmelo Anthony is expected to play against New York, so he's going to see the court against us, and we better be prepared for a difficult game against one of the leagues best.

anthony seems to be back in good shape.

32 pts against the knicks.

key to the game, find a way to slow down chancey billups. bibby might have a better time against a slower point like billups as opposed to the unbridled speed of rose, but billups can still go off on people. we have to slow him down early in the possesions and make them get out of their set plays

on offense, bibby and joe need to be on, but the key to this game is gonna be marvin. he has to be able to match points with anthony. that means scoring efficiently, as well as playing D on melo. if we can neutralize anthony's contribution to the team, then bibby and joe can outscore the rest of the eam and lead us to victory

Carmelo doesn't scare me as much as Nene and K-Mart do. If we can slow their big guys down we should win.

I'll be there thanks to Evil.

Should be an entertaining game between two quality teams.

That was a sick shot by Joe Joe. SMoove needs to get his ass down in the post, he keeps lurking around the perimeter like hes a good jumpshooter. Its strating to get annyoing. Coach em up Mr Woodson!
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

Jeez... Zaza. He screwed that layup but bounced with the offensive rebound, got fouled and made 2 freebies.

I hate when Josh tries to do too much after getting the rebound. It seemed like the Hawks might have been able to break it open but then a turnover that leads to an open 3 for them.

Is there a stat on turnovers when the shot clock is dead? It seems like every time we isolate Flip at the end of the quarter he gets stripped.

Hawks win for 20-10 overall. Send Bibby to All-Star game for 3-point contest.

Mike Bibby is unbelieveable right now. 5-6 from 3 tonight, and 7-10 from the field. Very nice win over a good Denver team, and the fact that we ended up blowing them out is impressive. We are a very strong team at home.

The dumb turnovers really drive me nuts but that was a decisive win against a good team. The defense and 3 pt shooting really came through. Smith needs to get his head out of his ass though. The end of quarter iso's need to hit the road.

Bibbys 3s are getting to be a joke. He's made 16 of his last 22 from 3.

I wonder who's going to be in the 3-point contest though. I really want Bibby to contend for the 3-point title.

As for Josh Smith, whenever he's about to shoot a 3, it feels like it's never really going to go in.

This was a great win tonight. We faced some major adversity when the Nugs got into the bonus midway through the third quarter, but we actually stretched our lead out a little bit over the rest of the third.

I felt Woody completely outcoached Karl. The additions of Flip and Mo and return to form from Zaza have really done wonders for our rotations. We had the matchups we wanted tonight and you've got to credit Woody for that. Plus the team defense was simply fantastic.

Since I had such good seats (thanks again to Evil Dallas) I kept an eye on Josh quite a bit. He really looks like he is still hurting. I'm hoping this isn't a long term problem for him, but he just isn't getting the same kind of lift that he usually does, especially on D.

It's gotta be close to half of the time. Every time Flip brings the ball below his waist in the lane someone strips it. I can't rip the guy though, he has done wonders for our bench this season.

The players can really celebrate this victory because Detroit beat Orlando tonight.

I think I'd prefer that Orlando beat Detroit. The 4th seed seems ideal and way more reaslitic for the Hawks. I'm not sure who I care if the Hawks played in the 1st round(although playing Wade would scare me alot more than playing Detroit)as long as they had homecourt and I'd definitely rather play Boston than Cleveland in the 2nd round if we were to get there.

yeah i don't think we are going to catch orlando. They have been winning a lot on the road.

The team i really don't want to see in the first round is NJ.
