Your All-time Most Disappointing Hawks
F Alan Henderson: Could score a little, but never became the 20/10 guy the team wanted him to be
F Shareef Abdur-Raheem: Had some decent numbers, but just couldn't win games
G/F: Isaiah Rider: He was a cancer that tore the team apart. I will never forget when we traded Steve Smith for him and marketed the new roster around speed.
G: Jason Terry: Decent numbers, but was not a point guard who created plays
G: Emanuel Davis: Pairing him with Terry did not work. He sucked.
G: Speedy Claxton: You d@mn well know why.
C: Priet Lauderdale: Project with more height than talent.
F/C: Cal Bowdler: sucked
C/F: Rasheed Wallace: Because he didn't want to play in Atlanta, and got out of town after only one game.
G Chris Paul: Just because he never played for us, because WE FAILED TO PICK HIM IN THE DRAFT.
This was supposed to be a 12 man roster, but this is just to depressing. I'm stopping right there. I could add so many rookie picks to this thing. It just makes you appreciate our current team all the more though.

Re: Your All-time Most Disappointing Hawks
I'll go with a starting 5:
PG - Pete Maravich - from all accounts, a total disaster as a pro here, and a terrible teammate
SG - Isiah Rider - he's an all-time disappointing human being
SF - Marvin Williams - just because of who we should have picked instead
PF - Shareef - All time leader in meaningless, empty stats
C - Moses Malone - supposed to be the final piece of the championship puzzle in '88, he and Theus destroyed the team's dynamic
6th man - Jason Terry - something was always missing with this guy
Coach - Lenny Wilkens - never got this team over the hump, and played a large role in trading 'Nique for Danny Manning
General Manager - Pete Babcock and Billy Knight in a highly contested tie for incompetence
I wouldn't include Shelden Williams, Danny Manning or Jon Koncak because everyone knew they were garbage before they got here, so it wasn't a disappointment when they played like doo doo.

Danny Manning was garbage now?
Plus...I don't see how you can tie Babcock and Billy Knight. Name Babcock's good move(s). with Knight you have to at least give him the trading for bibby, the trading for Johnson and drafting Smith, Horford...what you got for Babcock?

Re: Your All-time Most Disappointing Hawks
Danny Manning played with us for half a season, led us to getting bounced from the second round of the playoffs as a #1 seed, and then left as a free agent. I would consider that "garbage" - yes...
I'm not saying Babcock was some genius. I still have a custom made baseball cap that reads "Fire Babcock" that I used to wear to games. He brought us Mookie in a steal, and Dikembe and Steve Smith. His bad FAR outweighs his good, though. The reports I've read say that Kasten and Wilkens were the catalysts for the hideous Nique/Manning trade. Same goes for Billy Knight. He brought us some good players, but his bad FAR outweighs his good decisions. He blew 3 straight top 5 lottery picks and got fleeced in the Joe Johnson trade when we could have signed him clean without giving up those picks and Diaw. If we had a competent GM making all those high lottery picks earlier this decade, we would be a championship contender right now. That's why I give them a tie for incompetence.

Yeah, I totally should have included Shelden, Lo Wright, and Antoine Walker. I wouldn't put DeMar Johnson in there though, just because he was starting to come around before his devastating injury.

Re: Your All-time Most Disappointing Hawks
Starting lineup
C - Sheldon Williams (face it, he was supposed to play the five and it was only like watching the sick gazelle getting taken out by lions whenever he was on the court
PF - Glen Robinson (he is the reason the media turned on the hawks in the early 2000's. shot horribly and pretty much had roses on the lane for opposing players to drive through)
SF - Boris Diaw (Bum...)
SG - J.R. Rider (exactly why did we trade steve smith for him again???)
PG - Speedy Claxton (you can't really call any point guard we've had here disappointing as much as to say they were never supposed to be on the court for over 20 mins a game. but this guy is slapping hawks fans in the face on a nightly basis)
bench
G-ed gray (doesn't deserve to have his name capitalized
G-Salim Stoudmire (he could have been so much better than he became)
F-Rasheed Wallace (could have been a starter if it hadn't been for us getting josh smith with his pick)
F-Chirs Crawford (because he seemed to overstay his welcome by about 5 yrs.)
C-Theo Ratliff (was supposed to be the second mutombo, forgot to bring the offense)
Coach-Lon Kruger (he did less with nothing and screwed up the 2004 draft by playing a contract year bob sura when we needed to be losing)
GM-Pete Babcock (he was great in the 90's but obviously didn't know how to rebuild a team. i still hate him for trading steve smith for j.r. when everyone knew the guy was a year away from being kicked out).

Stotts was the coach when Sura killed our draft pick.

correction, my all-time disappointing coach would be terry stotts then. he doesn't deserve to have his name capitalized either.

Anyway, ya'll have their comments about your picks but I'll just let your imagination wander:
C - priest lauderdale
PF - hanno mottola
SF - Dermarr Johnson (never been the same after the accident)
SG - isaiah rider (IMO, it all began with this guy)
PG - dan dickau
reserves:
6th man - chris crawford (at least he stuck around for a bit)
eldridge recasner
ed gray
alan henderson
david anderson - only because he don't seem to like playing in the NBA
anthony "PIG!" miller - Nice!
Coach: Terry Stotts
GM: Pete Babcock
