If you watched that Laker/Minn game last night, you would have seen 2 no-calls that Bryant did not incur. The Lakers of course could not possibly lose a game to the T-Wolves no matter how bad they played!
He ran over Kevin Love outside the lane circle to a no-call that turned into a huge bucket for the Lakers and when the game was winding down, he ran over Gomes on the perimeter and got a no-call on that as well.

I never thought it was as blatant as that with other superstars, but Kobe gets the benefit every time late in the game. Its a shame that these 'refs' just look away from good basketball plays and ignore the obvious.

Mark Cuban has some more ammunition for his battle with the league's officials. Makes you question whether Donahue is the only corrupt ref out there?

I saw the game. I actually disagree on the charge . I didn't see a replay but it appeared Love was moving and was also guilty of flopping. I hate it when guys try to take charges way out on the perimeter anyway, Kobe wasn't even making a move to the basket and Love jumped in front of him and tried to get a call.

I do agree Kobe gets some calls. But that's what happens to all superstars in all sports. He earned that reputation, so I can't hate on the guy for getting the benefit of the doubt a lot of the time.

I didn't see yesterday's game, but superstar calls are common.

I will say the worst officiated playoff series I can recall was Minnesota getting ripped off against the Lakers creating an early exit for one of the better KG Wolves squads. I remember Barkley commenting on TNT about how atrocious the refs were. Of course that was pre-Donaghy scandal. I hope that now it'd have to be called at least more fairly.

Disagree JoshB: Kobe ran over Love in the paint outside the circle area and replay shows the contact. It should have been a charge or a block and neither was called.
When Minny went down on the other end and ran over Odom, you bet they made the call.

Re: the Kobe not going to the basket; ridiculous that can't call a foul when he isn't going to the basket. Ryan Gomes was trying to get a call when Kobe was killing clock. He still ran over him, yet no call.

The rules are what they are I understand. But it doesn't mean Kobe can't be called for a foul. This is one of the reasons people are turned off by this game. The human element is supposed to be kept in the game, yet the refs take themselves out by agreeing not to call Kobe on this type of call.
Way too much favoring of superstars.

It doesn't mean Minny was on their way to winning, but that type of refereeing has no business being part of the game.
