ATL / IND / TOR (?)

Post#1 » by Brazilian_Hawk » Tue Mar 10, 2009 3:18 pm

Hello guys, I don't have much time to post nowadays, but I was playing with the espn's trade checker and came out with this one (I don't really understand all the trade rules, looks like this would only work after all trade restrictions have expired:

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... eId=cj9dr2

HAWKS:

Incoming:
Troy Murphy (PF/C) $10.1 (3 years left)
Jason Kapono (SG/SF) $5.7 (2 years left)
Roy Hibbert (C) $1.4 (2 years left)

Outgoing:
Josh Smith (PF) $10.0 (5 years left)
Speedy Claxton (-) $5.7 (2 years left)
Mo Evans (SG/SF) $2.5 (2 years left)
Randolph Morris (C) $.8 (2 years left)
ATL 2nd (2009)
ATL 1st (2010)

Why? The Hawks adresses its woes at 5, adding a very good (yet underrated) center. Murphy is a double-double machine who hits 40+% 3-pointers and commits very few turnovers. Horford moves to PF, which is best for him and probably the ideal situation for the Hawks. Kapono helps to spread the floor. Hibbert could be useful when facing bigs like The Z and Yao.

Mike Bibby / Flip Murray / Acie Law
Joe Johnson / Jason Kapono / Flip Murray
Marvin Williams / Jason Kapono / (draft pick?)
Al Horford / Troy Murphy / Solomon Jones
Troy Murphy / Zaza Pachulia / Roy Hibbert

PACERS

Incoming
Chris Bosh (PF/C) $14.4 (extended)
Speedy Claxton (-) $5.7 (2 years left)
Randolph Morris (C) $.8 (2 years left)
ATl 2nd (2009)

Outgoing
Troy Murphy (PF/C) $10.1 (3 years left)
Mike Dunleavy (SG/SF) $9.0 (3 years left)
Roy Hibbert (C) $1.4 (2 years left)

Why? Bosh is a superstar who would help sell every single ticket, and could easily replace Murphy's and Dunleavy's absences. They keep Rasho and Foster as centers.

T.J. Ford / Jarrett Jack / (?)
Danny Granger / Jarrett Jack / Marquis Daniels
Marquis Daniels / Danny Granger / Brandon Rush
Chris Bosh / Jeff Foster / Maceo Baton
Rasho Nesterovic / Jeff Foster / Randolph Morris

RAPTORS

Incoming
Josh Smith (PF) $10.0 (5 years left)
Mike Dunleavy (SG/SF) $9.0 (3 years left)
Mo Evans (SG/SF) $2.5 (2 years left)
ATL 1st (2010)

Outgoing
Chris Bosh (PF/C) $14.4 (extended)
Jason Kapono (SG/SF) $5.7 (2 years left)

Why? TOR loses Bosh, but gets to keep a young PF stud (Smith) and an upgrade at SG/SF (Dunleavy). (Bosh+Kapono) for (Smith+Dunleavy+Evans) may not be a really good trade for TOR, so ATL 1st would be a nice sweetener.

Jose Calderon / Roko Ukic/ Marcus Banks
Mike Dunleavy / Anthony Parker / Mo Evans
Shawn Marion / Joey Graham / Mo Evans
Josh Smith / Shawn Marion / (?)
Andrea Bargnani / Jake Voskuhl / Patrick O'Bryant

Let me know what u guys think about it :D

This trade would never happen, but why would we rather have Troy Murphy and Roy Hibbert over Chris Bosh?

You're probably right, Guru, But I just can't see them trading Bosh with us? Who else we've got to offer? Marvin maybe?

I would probably offer any two players on the Hawks outside of Joe if Bosh agreed to an extension but that's just me. My point was if Bosh is available....then we should be trying to get him instead of helping send him to the Pacers.

I believe that even with Bosh, the Pacers would still be an inferior team when compared to the Hawks once ATL gets one or two respectable bigs. Maybe it's just me, but I'm really impressed by Murphy this season (last season he did good as well), and I would love to see him in a Hawks uni :)

OOOOPS. Never mind it, I just realised I forgot to add Granger to the Pacers lineup. Thinking about facing them after this trade is really scary.
