B: It is an attitude adjustment. He has the talent. His attitude has just been holding him back.

C: He could have gotten more rebounds all along. He was sharing them with Marv, another tweener, and while Marv is out, he is showing what he can do.

How do we interpret Josh Smith's sudden ability to rebound?

How do we interpret Josh Smith's sudden ability to rebound? He has put up some very impressive numbers against very credible teams in the past 3 games. 12 against Detriot, 13 against New Orleans, 12 against Utah.

I personally think it is an attitude adjustment. You can see it reflected in his other numbers as well. He is hustling to get blocks again:

4 against Detriot
2 against New Orleans
3 against Utah

and he has restricted himself to just one three point attempt in those 3 games. As much as I hate Woody, maybe he had an impact on Josh by benching him earlier. I don't know if it will last though. 3 games is an incredibly small window to speculate long term changes on.

He started the season with 3 straight double digit rebounding games. He had a string of double digit rebounding games before the break.

He rebounds when he feels like it which isn't very often.

^^^That kind of ties in with me saying it is a change in attitude, that could very well be a temporary change.

Attitude adjustment for sure. Josh has been playing like his old self these past few games.

it means the kid's got talent and can turn it on when ever he wants. too bad we don't have a system that can utilize this guy better.

3 games and then his attitude has changed and his talent is so much that he can rebound whenever he "turns" it on ? I do not buy it for a second. He doesn't have the skills neither the drive. I'm just glad he's been playing less and his role on this team has decreased while efficient guys like Horford and Flip have had more opportunities and touches.

It makes you wonder how good this team could've been and can be if Marvin can get healthy.

Hah. I saw the one vote for the "fluke" answer and I immediately knew it was you. You're consistent, I'll give you that.

Maybe he's feeling better now (ankle and flu) that he's getting to those highlight blocks again? Couple that with Marvin being out and a motivated Josh (playing on home floor), you get the Josh Smith that is producing at the beginning of the season.

It seems like whenever Josh attempts one three over several games..we go on a winning streak..

You'd have a good point if this were even remotely true, of course, its not seeing as that his minutes are up and he's touching the ball more... but hey, call it how you see it.
