Offical Jamal Crawford Thread

Post#1 » by Harry10 » Thu Apr 2, 2009 2:34 pm

i really wouldn't mind if Iverson became a Hawk, or if they resigned Bibby, even Nash might be okay.... but for me Crawford and Gordon are on the top of my list, with Crawford getting the slight edge.

1. Crawford
2. Ben Gordon
3. Jarrett Jack
4. Raymond Felton
5. TJ Ford
6. Bibby
7. Jason Kidd
8. Andre Miller
9. Allen Iverson
10. Marcus Williams

Crawford isn't going to opt out of 2 years and 20 million dollars left on his contract. Unless you think the Hawks should give him more than 10 million a year...

If the Hawks are going to let Bibby go, it only makes sense if they bring a true PG in. And, for that matter, it would have to be a true PG who is younger than Bibby.

TJ Ford is the only player on your list that actually meets that criteria.

Crawford is the kind of player that seems to have good stats but not good impact on wins.
I would prefer signing several other players before him.

Ford would be a better fit, but he's not F.A. before 2010, or 2011 if he takes his option year.

Supposedly Nelson told Crawford he would deal him if he doesn't opt out this summer. But I agree with you, he probably won't want to give up that kind of $$$ and he'll be dealt.

I'd take a pass on Crawford anyway.

Getting traded from the Warriors would be a good thing- I can't see how thats a threat. Its not like he has been a warrior for years and wants badly to stay. I think the only thing you could do to try and get a player to opt out is to just vow to ride them on the bench.

I would want Jarrett Jack how is TJ Ford the only fit on the list? Although I wouldn't mind Ford, Jack is a taller stronger guard. A halfcourt offense orientated guard as well to fit our style and a pass first shoot second guard.

the whole Ford/Jack situation is very confusing to me. early in the season i thought that Pacers would let Jack walk after this year, because Ford has a big contract and somebody would over pay for Jack.

but now, since Ford got demoted, it looks like the Pacers want Jack as their franchise PG? so that might mean the Pacers would be more open to recieving trade offers for Ford?

Am I wrong about this? I thought Jamal Crawford was a conscienceless chucker? More so than even Ben Gordon. He's also proven over time that he lacks worthwhile PG skills. Given his price tag and the similarities I would rather go after Gordon. However, all things considered I'd rather have someone who can take some of the workload off of Joe and also create for others like Hinrich, Jack, Calderon, or Blake.

why in the world would we want Crawford? That makes no sense. We don't another SG when we have Joe. Crawford is nothing but a chucker. This is a stupid thread.

When does Calderon become a free agent? Why arent we talking about getting him. I really like his game, idk about yall. Good fit? Any chance?

All this talk about signing a new PG might be crazy talk. Am I the only one who thinks that we will resign Bibby (even though he might be a bad fit and declining) to a 2 or 3 year deal??
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

Golden State won't get any value by trading Jamal Crawford, so they need to include a true prize, and that would be a draft pick. If they want to include a future first round pick with VERY limited protection (maybe top 2 protected) I would consider trading for him. If GS would like to include Anthony Randolph, I would be open to giving them some value, but I doubt they want to move the young man. It's going to cost them if they want to move the 20 million left on his contract.

You're not wrong about anything. Crawford is exactly what you say imo, a bona fide chucker getting paid big time money.

isn't Iverson a chucker? isn't Bibby a chucker?

Crawford played PG in Chicago, New York, and GS. he handles the ball alot and brings the ball up.

Crawford does not have the best PG skills, but his skills sets suit him to be Joe's backcourt teammate.

Joe brings up the ball with Bibby, he could do the same with Crawford.

Crawford's assist and turnovers are similar to Bibby's

Crawford is NOT a PG! Bibby might shoot a lot but he is WAY more of a PG than Crawford. Much better passer. We have no place for him on this team at all. I can't believe your even thinking of getting him.

TJ Ford or Calderon would be a good fit to this team if Bibby leave, but I think Calderon is restricted though.

On Crawford, I think it's better to resign Murray than trading for him.

Exactly WHAT does Crawford do that'd make him valuable to us? Good outside shooter? Good playmaker? Good creator for others?

Nah. No way. Nope.
