Post#1 » by rak1974 » Sat May 30, 2009 1:31 am

Would you guys do the number 2 for Al Horford and Ace Law or Al Horford and 19th for the #2 and #27th?

If we get 2 we better be taking Rubio.

'Tother way 'round; MEM sends US an extra pick or player.

I don't think Memphis is trading #2 in a deal centered around Al.

It's far from dead.

In terms of Al's stock. I would like to think it is decent, but it won't land us a top 3 pick in this draft.

2 0r 3. behind Griffin and maybe Rubio, pending on the team needs/options.

The New York Knicks offered to buy the Grizzlies' 27th pick for $3million, according to a source. The Griz turned down that proposal. Link

Shows you how highly they value the 27th overall pick.

I would say Horford would go 4 behind Griffin, Rubio, and Thabeet. I think a team would take a true big man over Horford.

so horford should be equal value to memphis as the #2 pick because they need a PF not a center. and Hoford would be the next best PF if not the best PF in this years draft. He is still young on his rookie contract and already has shown that he can hold his own in the nba. something that griffin has yet to do! so maybe the hawks should get the number 2 plus a player for Horford?

Memphis is not going to trade for need right now, they will draft whoever they want and then worry about it. If you have the #2 pick you draft for talent and worry about need later.

Just because Horford MIGHT be the #2 pick in the draft, doesn't mean we can get the #2 pick. He will have 2 year less on his rookie contract that whoever memphis will take and is older than both Rubio and Thabeet.

If we were offering for #2, we likely have to give up Horford, Claxton, and 19 for #2, Jaric, and possibly the Lakers 2010 pick that Memphis owns. That could possibly happen since we would be helping them with salary issues as well.

horford is 22 and thabeet is 22. the age difference is pretty much a nonfactor.

Traded horford for Thabeet would be pointless. It would be trading a player who should be a back up powerforward in the nba(horford) for a player who has bust written all over him (thabeet)

Once again. Wont happen, EVER. I dont know why we would take Thabeet with that pick. We should get Rubio. Id almost prefer Tyreke Evans but I knowhow much we need a 7 footer.
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

Horford turns 23 in June. Thabeet turns 23 in Feb. That's 8 months.

you think horford should be a backup PF? he's a better PF than everyone left in the playoffs but Gasol. that's a pretty tough/unwarranted judgment, i think.

horford is no where near the player lewis is,.

so basically, your argument for horford being a legit starter is taht he is better than Varajao
