Morris is probably the only player on the roster I'd trade for Curry if you ignore contracts. The last thing the Hawks need is an awful rebounder like Curry.

I have to say that I am worried that we don't get anything but a final year out of Marvin and lose him next year.

The Hawks performed just as well without him last year when he was injured.

The center piece is are weakest link we have ZaZa (I'm a big fan) but he is defensive. Curry can score from the position better than him and even Horford. From what I have read he has lost 30 lbs and looking and MOVING better.

Either way I admit that Marvin is a better player and still has more room to be better. But Curry has potential too and is at a position of need.

Will we see Marvin in 2 years and at what cost?

Curry might renegotiate and sign an extension to get a contract long term. I think its worth exploring as I feel it might be for the betterment of the team.

You aren't going to win consistently with two guys who are basically stationary chairs on D(Curry and Bibby)playing big minutes. Curry is a horrible passer, horrible shot blocker, horrible pick and roll defender, horrible, rebounder, etc. The word around Chicago is that Curry has always been a guy who only played basketball because he was tall and he basically didn't step foot inside a gym from mid April until August(this from Quentin Richardson himself). I want no part of him.

Are you serious? Eddy Curry's absolute garbage. I'd rather start Zaza than Curry; hell, I'd rather take Solo than Curry.

I don't think I have ever heard Zaza as being a defensive big man.

Did you see him battle KG in the playoffs 2 years back?

Amen, although, I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to earn a new contract with (temporarily) better play this year.

Somebody's likely to be burned by Curry -- sure hope it's not us.

Have you seen every other game since them when he is out near the 3 line guarding whoever he wants, or when he lets guys beat him inside for easy dunks>

I don't post often, because most often another poster has a similar opinion and arguments to mine, so it would just be pointless to repeat what has been said already. But this is just too ridiculous. I'll try to remain respectful, but I could not let this one pass.

Of course, if you're a Knicks fan, I can understand the thread. If not, you should not be allowed to post anywhere ever again.

Not only would this trade would be absolutely horrible if you compare the output and potential of both players using Marvin's 08-09 stats and Curry's pre-injury stats, but this goes even further. Curry is an overweight whale who basically only had one good season (for a once promising center) in his entire career, but HE HASN'T PLAYED IN A YEAR! Not only was he out of shape and talent before last year, there is no doubt that he regressed while not playing for a whole season.

I mean, this proposal could have been interesting to discuss if Curry had once been a stud who hasn't been playing for a season. In this case, I guess it would have been somewhat of a high-risk high-reward deal kinda deal for which some would have trade a young Marvin Williams. But in the actual, Im still trying to find an argument on why the Hawks front-office would even consider such a monstrosity.

Curry? Damn, I know this is a bad sports week, but let's not go insane with boredom. And for those who think maybe he tries this year in order to get a new deal, he has 2 years left on that current deal so don't bet on it.

Remember when the Hawks courted Curry in free agency. Having the Knicks acquire him instead was the wheel of karma finally balancing the ill-fated decision to match the offer sheet to Jon Konchak so many years ago. When the universe gives you a gift like that you don't squander it later.

before the Bibby and Zaza signing.............

ATL gets: Kaman
ATL gives: 2010 pick

LAC gets: Curry (expirering)
LAC gives: Kaman

NYK gets: 2010 pick
NYK gives: Curry

ATL gets a 7 footer and gives up a low first round pick
LAC get an expirering contract, in exchange for a 3 year contract
NYK gets a first round pick in exchange for the team's 12th option.

Another thing I just noticed...Curry's trainer just said Curry has lost 30 pounds and has now "slimmed down" to 328. I always figured his listed weight was a joke considering he was 301 pounds as an 18 year old and he looked to be in noticeably better shape back then. If guys like Big Baby and Blair were 290-300 pounds in college(despite being much shorter)then I always figured that Curry was atleast in the 315-320 range even before he ballooned after the injuries in the last 2 years.

I would not do that trade and I believe the NYK would not do it probably.
But I am sure we need at least one more big presence in order to face Cleveland, Orlando, Boston or Washington in equal conditions.
Orlando just kept Gortat, which gives them an interior gema of Howard, Gortat, Bass and the help of Lewis. They are big, quick, yaoung and good. They could simply destroy us in a direct confrontation.
Boston has Perkins, Garnett, Wallace and will get someone more. May be Glen Davis, Gooden...
Cleveland has Shaq, Ilgauskas, Varejao, Hickson and will probably sign a 5th man. Every position is doubled and has a lot of weight, height and quality. We are no match for them.
Washington has McGee, Haywood, Blatche and the help of Jamison. Young, quick and, if healthy, good and solid players or players with a universe ahead of them.

We need to do something in order to be prepared to go to war with a possibility of beating them in the POs.
