Diogu told the Sacramento Bee that "about 10 teams" have shown interest in him, including Atlanta, New Orleans, Boston, Dallas, Charlotte, Toronto, Denver and Washington. Link

I really like him as the 4th big. I think it will be too expensive/difficult to get Chris Wilcox, my first option.

i wouldnt get our hopes up. Big men seem to avoid the hawks like the plague in free agency

We may have more chance to sign a veteran than one player like Diogu who will hope to show what he can do to get a better contract later, because Woodson won't let him play.

I have a theory (for what it's worth): with Hawks always struggling at the first half, and never or nearly never leading with more than 10pts in lots of games, Woody choose to keep his best guys on the floor, ending with Joe playing more than 40 minutes.
If this team was better (maybe not more talent, but better coaching, better passion,...) and was leading by double-digit like it should be the case against lots of teams, it would give a reason to let the young guys play, and it would be a benefit for them since they would play against the best players of the opponent team, trying to keep the lead, instead of playing only in garbage time the only games with a "huge" loss coming.

The lack of offensive plays, the fact we always play the same thing make it easier to the opponent to stay in the game. If Woodson has better offense, maybe we would lead more often, and the young guys could play and learn.
But as long as it's like that, nobody will want to come here if he has something to prove and need playing time.
