Scoop Jackson's idea

Scoop Jackson wrote this for ESPN:

Atlanta Hawks

Mike Bibby at the point and Jamal Crawford at the 2. Zaza Pachulia in the middle, Al Horford at the 4 and Joe Johnson at the 3. Putting Josh Smith as the sixth man gives the Hawks depth similar to that of Denver or San Antonio. Crawford -- even with all his inconsistency -- could prove to be one of the most important offseason moves in the NBA. If Mike Woodson can establish Crawford's role by March, the Hawks will be that team no one wants to see come late April. They could be next year's Orlando.

Personally, I don't see that working, but as it was a novel thought that I'd not seen before I had to share it to get other people's thoughts as well.

Does he even remember a guy, named Marvin Williams?

I have seen alot of terrible lineup suggestions since we traded for Crawford...but that's easily the worst. That isn't our best 5 and they are a horrible fit together anyway. The thing that makes it even more confusing is that he compares the situation to Denver and San Antonio....two teams who use their 3rd option SG's(JR and Manu)as instant offense for 25-30 minutes off the bench. That's exactly how we should use Crawford.

i have a better idea.

teague
crawford
mo evans
al horford

this way, the hawks can have joe, marvin, and smith coming off the bench and giving them as much bench talent as anyone else in the leauge!

Does Scoop actually get paid for this? Damn!

Josh Smith as the 6th man should sit well with him and Coach Woodson.

Does Scoop know something about Marvin that we don't?

How can you just ignore one of our regular starters since he has been here?

Smoove as a 6th man is an expensive move.

Not a good move IMO at this point in his career.

I am not a fan of Scoop Jackson at all, but that lineup is BRILLIANT!!!!!!!

We can have our two 20 ppg scorers keeping defenses honest. A frontline big enough to bang with anyone, and two instant gamechangers coming off the bench.

We HAVE to have Crawford starting next to JJ. It prevents teams from doubling JJ all game. And with three shooters spreading the floor, Horford and Zaza can use their very limited post moves in one on one situations. We would have the best bench in the NBA with Marv and Smoove and (maybe) Teague.

I really like this idea Scoop. :D
