Do you guys think that with Bowen not generating a lot of interest from teams, that we could get him and Joe Smith for the MLE? Personally, I don't think so, but I think he would be great consolation prize if we end up having to sign a less talented, cheap big man. The roster would look like this
Horford Zaza Randolph
Smith Cheap Big
Marv Bowen Evans
JJ Craw
Bibby Craw Teague
It would at least add some perimeter D off the bench to offset Craw's purely offensive skills.

Re: Bruce Bowen?
Bowen can't play defense anymore, he's too old and he lost the already marginal athleticism that let him stay in front of offensive players.

Re: Bruce Bowen?
it would have been great to get Bruce, because he would have taken alot of pressure off of Joe both defensively and offensively, with his 3pt shooting. Bowen is pretty much a rich man's version of Evans, but because of the Bibby signing, it makes it hard for the Hawks financially. having Bruce guard guys like Lebron, Wade, Kobe, Vince, Pierce, Carmelo could have given Joe such a big relief, but i guess we are going to have to rely on Mo again.

A few years ago, sure. Now, he's a shell of what he once was. He might have more value as an assistant coach than a player at this point teaching younger, athletic go-getters every trick in the book.

I'd like him to coach marvin on how to be an elite defender. Marv defiantly has the potential.
