Will Joe Johnson end up with Knicks?

He may not be LeBron James or Dwyane Wade, but Joe Johnson saying that he will not sign an extension with the Hawks before next season cannot be bad news for the Knicks. Johnson, 28, played for Mike D'Antoni for two seasons in Phoenix and is familiar with the Knicks' run-and-gun style. Johnson sounds like an ideal fit for D'Antoni and would be a good third option if the Knicks can't land James or Wade.

This is nothing but speculation & wishful thinking by the NY tabloids. But it is something that crossed my mind. I'm very excited to see how the next 10 months play out. :P

Sure, New York will pursue him, but there also going to be linked to every free agent due to the media. I feel good about the season and a strong playoff run. I just hope our management and players feel the same and continue down a path of success.

that is fine, if NY focuses on Joe that means that Wade, Bosh or Amare will be looking for offers.

MIA, NJN, CHI, and HOU will be ATL main competitors, and ATL should have an edge over those other cities, because the Hawks is already an established contender and located warm weather big market city.

You misinterpreted Harry, Joe would be the consolation prize if Bron and Wade stay put not the focus over them.

Harry,

The Hawks do not have enough cap space to pursue Wade, Bosh, or Amare.

Forget about it. King James will be a Knick at the end of this season, which should end any hopes of JJ playing there. Why woudn't you sign an extension for the max with your current team when you have one of the best shots at winning it all? Because you love the idea of being a Knick, hear me Bron? There's only so much you can accomplish in Cleveland and many other cities around the country. JJ's best chances are with other teams ( NJ for example) that like the Knicks, have the cap space, but suck big time.

Why would Lebron sign an extension when he knows that the max would be on the table next year barring anything short of a career ending injury? It's also not like the Cavs supporting cast is the reason they are title contenders,he's been in the NBA 6 years already and has yet to play a single game with anyone else that is even close to a top 30 player in the league. Given the age of their two centers and lack of 2010 capspace....the Cavs are likely to never win a title with Lebron if they can't this year barring someone handing them a Gasol type player to pair with Lebron which happens once every 5 years or so.
