http://hawks.realgm.com/articles/593/20 ... e_johnson/In this link, proposed Joe for bosh was mentioned. How would we integrate him into our lineup
with josh, al and marvin? He would be an upgrade go to guy. Thoughts

What about the possibility that "Joe wants more"?...not only more money but more quality players.
He is putting pressure on the young studs who resigned with the Hawks ( Marvin and Josh especially and to a lesser extent Zaza) and on management to make a decision (could be on him obviously but also about people surrounding him).
Maybe Joe wants to stay here but is putting the expectations all the way up here, so management at some point may have to make a call. If we want to keep Joe, not only we will have to pay him the money but also build a REAL contending team around him...
If Smoove does not step it up and IF Teague is up to expectations, I am all for a Smoove + Crawford + Morris for Bosh (or Amare) + Filler (Back up guard: e.g. Barbosa). You upgrade the team and give yourself a real shot at championship down the road with 2 stars players (hoping that either Teague or Al develops in the 3rd one) and good role players with Bibby- Marv- Barvosa- Al and Zaza.
Bibby/Teague- Wilks
JJ - Barbosa (???)- Mario- Evans
Marv- Evans
Bosh/ Amare- Smith- Hunter
Horford- Zaza- Collins- Sims
PS; I would prefer the Bosh scenario.

TBH I see more upside in building around the Smoove/Marvin/Al/Teague core than trading Smoove for an Amare or Bosh.

Not to mention that the trade wouldn't guarantee that JJ re-signs here, and in that case we'd be down a major piece.

I wouldn't mind if we got another top player to go alongside JJ. The problem is what position do they play. Amare and Bosh are great, but both are PFs. You then force either them to play the 5 or Horford.
Also the question is what would we give up. Crawford has a negative perception around the league. He has 0 value, maybe even negative value. I don't think Josh and Crawford would net us a Bosh or an Amare unless one of them came out and said "we do not want to resign with our current team". Even then I'm not sure if the Raptors would accept it (They do have Bargnani and would be without a true banger inside) and the Suns would be in the same boat (with Nash, Crawford, Smith and Lopez they would be at a crossroads and likely would want a more rebuilding package).
I know we all figure we can ship Smith out, but it may have to be Horford to get interest from other teams. We probably would also have to throw in a pick or two. If we could get a team to bite with an offer of smith and crawford I am all for it, but I am being realistic here.
You also have to worry about the offseason. Having to resign 2 guys to the max is putting ourselves in a bad situation financially and possibly team wise. We could lose both which would suck, especially if we gave up picks (which I am sure would be protected but still).
Now I will focus on the JJ for Bosh scenario. Is it a good idea? We would have to move horford or smith to the bench (or marvin if you think smith can play the 3). Crawford then starts at the 2 and we have no SG depth. I can see getting Bosh being a positive for the team, but unless we can also get a sg out of I'm not sure how a 3 man pf/c rotation will work between those 3 when you know joe smith and zaza will need to get some pt as well.

How does Joe Johnson for Chris Bosh exactly work?
Toronto seems to have a solid plan set for the future if they resign Chris Bosh. Say we move Joe for Chris Bosh, we would have to focus on moving Josh Smith, or Al Horford, and I see the situation possibly turning into one big mess.

I love Joe, but Bosh is better AND he answers a big need we have, namely for an inside scorer. Like some of the other trades we've made up lately around here, this 'un'd be too good to turn down.
Just look at it: we'd trade for one of the best inside scorers in the NBA and we STILL wouldn't have a real hole in our lineup.

Joe is not enough to land Bosh, I am sorry.

What more can we give him? He has his vet PG in Bibby and a solid starting five around him. Now he has a deeper bench and a guy in Crawford who can shoulder some of the scoring load off of the bench. It's up to Joe to make this team great, because his supporting cast is quite good.

Then it's very possible Toronto will lose him for nothing. Joe is about the most they would be able to get for him whether he is as valuable as CB4 or not.

Im a raptors fan, and just looking over the boards. First I dont think Bosh would ever get traded, and you guys are forgetting we have a young rotation of Demar Derozan, the rook from USC, and Bellinelli whos got a team option for next year. So if were moving for an elite SG, its unlikely its for a rental player this year, even if Bosh is walking.
Now if say Bosh is walking, and we get an agreement that JJ is resigning, I think it might be feasible, but as of right now hes said on numerous occasions hes looking to resign here, and the rumors are Texas, Miami and New York. But even then I see it hard pressed we move for JJ, sorry Hawks fans.

^^^ I don't think anyone will argue that JJ is better than Bosh. But IF he is wanting out as it has been rumored then Toronto couldn't ask for a better offer and that is surely as good an offer as they will get. And obviously the trade would involve JJ signing a multi-year contract to play for the Raps.

Aye, but therein lies the rub: neither player would agree to an extension BEFORE the trade. The reason both teams are looking to trade their respective player is because they WON'T resign.

I wouldn't say that is the best we can expect. I wouldn't say it is totally insulting either...
I like the various Golden State options I've heard, as they are centered around Beans. I would hope to get a big back if we traded Bosh.

My biggest concern with Chris Bosh is if he's open to playing the 5 for a full season. I have mentioned this several times during the past, but he has been playing the majority of his minutes at the 4, and I believe that's what he prefers. This very topic is on other team boards and fans seem to ignore the fact that he plays the majority of his minutes at the 4.
