anybody here still wish that Jrue dropped to 19.

i have to admit, i was one of them, but after watching both guys thus far..... Teague looks more like Russel Westbrook than Holiday.

I haven't seen either of them play since the tournament ended...but I had Teague higher on my personal wish list than Holiday at the time. Lawson would have been ideal for me though. I would have strongly considered taking him as early as pick number 7 given how weak this draft was.

Jrue Holliday has all the makings of a bust. Teague at least has boom-or-bust written all over him.

If they did it all over again i would still pick Teague over Holiday. Probably would have picked Lawson over Teague but that jury is still out. Teague looked better than Law easily even though it was a pre-season game. Law looked half way scared to me even in Summer League.

I like Teague and thought Jrue was too raw (at draft time), but I'll have to seen them in actual regular season play (a healthy sample) before rendering an opinion on who's better in the NBA. Also I never dwell on who didn't fall to us like I tend to do with who we passed on. Trading up isn't always an option, but choosing the right guy when he is sitting there is.

I can't see what would have changed from draft night as far as your evaluations of these players. Its not like Teague tore up summer league or anything like that.

at least Teague has a little buzz from his teammates, everything about Jrue Holiday since high school has been basically excuses as to why he's so horrible, the only people that still believe in Holiday are some media people and draft fans that want to believe he's going to stop being slow and crappy and horrible and become a superstar at any moment so they don't look like idiots for telling everybody how amazing he's going to be. The SG excuse doesn't work anymore, now he's on a team with zero true PGs on it and wants him to play PG, his only competition for the starting PG spot is a 40% shooting 6 foot shooting guard who's never started a game in his life and probably would need to play 55 minutes a game to average 5 assists, and so far its not even close, Holiday isn't even making it a consideration.

Holiday might still be decent, but his ceiling right now is realistically Eric Snow territory, Philly needs to rebuild his confidence.

So, Teague.

I just don't see what could have possibly changed since the draft to change anyone's mind about these players. If you liked Holiday more before the draft than Teague then I'd think you would still like Holiday more now. If you liked Teague more then you probably still like Teague more. I would still prefer Dejuan Blair over both of them- I just can't see how anyone could have enough information to change their mind. I don't think that Teague would be any more in the conversation to be a starter in philly than Holiday is.

I will say that I am encouraged by Teague getting to the FT line so much.

I'm just excited to see how explosive Teague is. I didn't spend as much time looking at potential draftees this year, so after seeing Jeff in action some now it's apparent to me that he could be the PG that we've been needing for a while. He's extremely athletic, has great speed, has good court vision, and can score at the rim. I'm sure he has plenty to work on in his game, but what rookie doesn't. If he comes on like I hope he can, I think he could be the Parker-type PG who could push us over the edge.

Teague is looking really impressive. I thought his ability to blow past defenders and get to the rim would translate to the NBA but his passing the last couple of games has been impressive. Give him the keys

Absolutely agree. Let's wait until the season...

And his speed. Wow.

i agree, i knew this guy could jump and score, but the passing has really been a surprise. before the draft i thought this guy was another Monta Ellis, a short SG, but it actually looks like that Teague has got some legit PG skills, and could even be another Devin Harris.

After reading that EJ kept Holiday out of the Knicks game to "protect his psyche" I would say that doesn't speak too well in Jrue's favor in this debate.

Good comparison...As a Chicago Bulls fan, I was hoping he would fall to the 26th pick on draft night. I thought we could've used him to back up Derrick Rose at the point.
He's such a dynamic one on one player. I wonder how he is on his assist to turnover ratio?

His A/TO in preseason isn't bad (2.22), but it'll be much worse in the regular season. (Like his efficiency).

Anything from Teague during the regular season will be more than Law offered, so I think we are right to be excited about his addition.

I am perfectly fine with Teague. I was higher on him then Lawson or Holiday. I never was high on Holiday. On draft night I was sort of torn between Lawson and Teague. I would have wanted Lawson if we didn't re-sign Bibby. Teague wouldn't be ready to lead the team and Lawson might have been. With Bibby back Teague can take his time and learn for a few seasons. If his development continue as it is. Perhaps he could move into the starting rotation at some point next year.

So "buzz" is good, and "crappy and horrible" is somebody you describe as 'realisticaly' having the up-side of somebody who, in his prime, Kobe described as being his toughest defender? Jrue has some 'buzz' from his teammates (So?), and no 'excuses' have been heard from them. Who knows what Jrue will or won't be, and Tegaue does seem pretty darn good, but I hope your other 14.344 posts were better than this one. Buzz, and crappy. Right.

In hindsight...it looks like this draft was drastically underrated by the pundits. This was widely considered the worst draft since 2000 outside of Griffin, but it already looks like you have 2 future stars+a good number of players who have showed intriguing potential in limited minutes.

Exactly. I feel the pundits failed to view prospects in terms of NBA rules. There were a lot of speedy perimeter players in the draft and they've made a real impact with their opportunities so far.
