11/14/07 ATL 117 - CHAR 109

03/28/07 CHAR 101 - ATL 87
01/20/07 CHAR 104 - ATL 85

Denver is favored to win tonight by 1 point at Miami. I hope they do nothing but run throughout that game.

Washington favored to win by 1 point at Indiana.

Detroit at Orlando is off the board but Orlando should be highly favored to win with Rip & Tayshaun Prince out.

Interesting that the games are close despite Atlanta being way better.

I think you guys have a great team, and an incredible bench. It will be interesting to see if the Bobcats can keep up the defensive intensity (they are 2nd in the NBA and 1st in forcing turnovers and 1st in rebounding). Unfortunately we are dead last in all offensive categories. Hopefully we can score some as well to give you guys a good game.

I truly hope that this game resets our defense and get's us back into a routine of playing at a slower pace. Sure 5th in offense is nice but 17th in defense will not get it done.

Not me. I want to force Charlotte to run!

We need this win tonight. Orlando is basically a lock to win tonight and we could end up being the only other divisional team to win. Time to capitalize!!

I prefer the faster pace. Playing at a slow pace gives you better looking points against, but doesn't mean better defense. I'd like more consistent defense effort leading to pushing the ball.

My only hope is that Joe plays sub-35 minutes tonight.

We should use this game as an opportunity to play Teague for 25 minutes or so, and give him a chance to work on his defense against the worst offense in the league.

Get the Hornets down early, and let's save some of the minutes for Denver on Saturday.

If possible, use our bench early tonight.

Another Australian hawks fan here. Have been reading this forum for too long without writing. Looking forward to watching Flip play again. Hopefully Teague gets good playing time tonight.

The Hawks have 100 percent half-assed it in the 1st half vs Indiana,Sacremento, and Charlotte. No other way around it.

It would be so traumatic if the Hawks played Teague more than 5 minutes. The Hawks starters are playing so well.

Goddamnit this team always packs it in against bad teams, I don't understand why they couldn't at least PRETEND to give a damn and stop just launching jumpers.

We might as well have a chair out there guarding Felton. He's been getting to the rim and finding someone wide open for a layup or a 3 pointer the entire game.

It looks like the Hawks wanted to get this road trip over after the big win in Portland. The Hawks have just been a step slower than the opposition these last 2 games. I'm still hoping this is just an early season thing but the Hawks defense has basically blown so far outside of the Portland and Washington games. I had a feeling they'd lose but giving up 60 points in 1 half to the Bobcats(who could be the worst offensive team in the league)is a joke.

Bell and Flip being back has changed the offense 10 fold. Also, Chandler and Diaw finally look healthy. They were a great 3 PT shooting team last year, and tonight they are back to that mold.

Wow! What happened? I missed this game, came in to check in on the win and .... boom!! A loss. A 20 point loss. A 20 point loss to Charlotte. This thread tells me so little.

Someone please tell me:
Did we mail it in?
Was CHAR just hot?
Why does the stat sheet seem to indicate that NO ONE had a good game for us?
Why did Joe Smith start?

WHAT HAPPENED?

That boxscore has to be a wrong about Joe Smith starting.

The Hawks mailed it in defensively in the first half just as they did vs Sac. Marvin was the one exception out of the 5 in this particular game-but this is the 3rd game out of 6 where the Hawks starters weren't interested in exerting any effort on defense to start the game. They gave up over 60 points in the 1st half to a team who came in averaging 79 a game(including a double OT game although they didn't have Bell). They showed a little more effort in the 2nd half but unlike the Indy and Sac games-they were actually facing a legit top 10 defense in Charlotte.
