He can score the ball. If he had minutes he could probably score 15-20 per game. Problem is that he would give up 30 and always be in foul trouble.

He has good hands and a very nice touch, so if he just works very hard on his lateral movement and foot speed on defense he could provide a formidable 10-15 minutes per game down the stretch.

It is fun to watch this team as complete as it is.

Randolph Morris has really improved as a result of weight loss and attitude change (looks like he wants to play basketball now), but it is like he's just starting his overall development to be a complete big (he squandered 3 years in the pros just being big). If he continues to work at it with this new focus then he could be a good rotation big in a few years (late bloomer). Whether that is here in future years or not depends on his signing reasonable deals. There is always a chance that someone will see he potential and overpay him (which leads to higher expectations and likely failure). Happens with bigs all the time it seems. Still a long way to go for him, but it is fun actually having positive garbage time for a change to see the bench guys development.

Contract year play?

Morris can hit midrange shots and actually post up once in a while. His defense is terrible but I never understood why people argued that strongly about him not being worthy to make an NBA roster as if Solo and Siler weren't just as bad(if not worse in Siler's case).

I really want Morris to succeed, but his PF/min stat is just SOOOOOOOOO overwhelming that I don't think it'll ever happen.

I went to B-R.com to look for modern bigs who had similar problems limiting their fouls early in their career (regardless of minutes). Almost all of them were able to limit their fouls by their 2nd or 3rd season. The one notable exception was Jerome James, who should be applauded for doing so little to earn so much...

Mr.H again we are on the same wavelength. Just clicking on this thread and scrolling down, Jerome James was the first thing to pop into my head regarding RandMo's contract year improvements.

Well, on second thought, if RandMo's statistical counterpart is James then we are going to have an awesome playoff run this year with his contributions and he will later on sign somewhere for the full MLE only to revert to the RandMo we saw for the first 3 years of his career.
