A healty McGrady would look go as an upgrade a sf or a replacement for Joe if he leaves in FA.

Doubt he would come here for the mle though.

Healthy is the key word.

i think McGrady would be plan D

A. resign Joe
B. go after a top free agent
C. sign Josh Howard, Ray Allen, Camby, Raja Bell, Rudy Gay, or Travis Outlaw at a discount
D. TMac or Shaq

but hey, like i say for any player..... i wouldn't mind getting Tracy, as long as the price is right.

Someone ask the Houston board what it would take to get McGrady.

I bet 10 bucks some knucklehead will say "Joe Johnson" and another will say "Josh Smith"

When someone is injured that often that bad then the only time they are worthwhile is at veteran minimum like the Suns signed Grant Hill for. Anything more would be silly because he is unlikely to be able to play when you need him the most.

Larry Hughes will fetch a larger salary than TMac next season, book it.

I'll easily take that bet.

Is there any chance we could get him for the remainder of this season? I could see us bringing Marvin off the bench behind TMac. That would be a sick setup. Don't know that it would work from a chemistry point of view, but it would definitely push us to the top in terms of talent in the East.

^^^ The only chance would be a buyout (and it hasn't got to that point). It would really depend if someone offers Houston something they can't refuse to go along with a salary dump at the same time. They won't be far enough below the cap for a max free agent, so they might be better suited taking on another year of a contract if it is packaged with a great talent (or big upside guy) as an incentive.

Too funny  I agree though, T-mac would be down on my list of "gets" this offseason.

he isnt a good character guy like grant hill though. the hawks are good, why risk putting him on the team to cry like a lil bitch like he has done in houston

Not that I want him on the Hawks...but I think the people who are writing Tmac off as "completely done" are nuts. I always thought he'd be a fantastic role player. He's lost more than a step but his size, ball handling, and passing would be an asset. I think he's capable of helping out a good team like Webber did in Detroit or Grant Hill in Phx.

I'm just thankful that he burned all the bridges in Orlando. I'd hate to see him end up there for the MLE and just sit back content to kill teams who double Howard.

It was only 1 game...but still a solid Knick debut for Tmac. I think he still has the ball handling+size to be an effective 3rd or 4th option in the NBA.
