F'N RIDICULOUS!!!

Post#1 » by ACE_reppin_ATL » Thu Dec 31, 2009 2:41 am

HAWKS GOT ROBBED @ CLE!!!

CLE shot 36 FTs vs only 15 for HAWKS while fukkin Varaejo push and bump on every Hawks shot and the refs let the CLE guards dig and reach inside all NIGHT with NO CALLS on the other END!!! THEN they jerked us with the shot clock!!!

WORSE OFFICIATING vs ATL all year!!!

The awful calls are going to happen. It was a horribly officiated game in favor of the Cavs but those will even out over the course of the season. Trust me.

I do have a big problem with the shot clock situation. I think that was just as worse as the Shaq 5 fouls situation in 08. It was still a 1 point game but I was pretty shocked that Woody didn't lose control and get ejected. How do you not reset the shot and game clock in that situation.

So how many calls were missed? You are allowed to contest a shot by jumping straight up btw...

And Cle got more FT b/c they were actually driving the ball. 90% of your shots were jumpers...

Sorry, but I'd never buy a used car from you. "Trust" you? Huh?

Calls like this never "even out" for the Hawks. Name ONE game where the Hawks were awarded a game OUT OF HAND from the refs against a contender.

If the NBA really worked that way, we'd have received better officiating last night at home.

Ummm...how about the time where they played the Raptors in a critical April game in 2008 and TJ Ford was cheated out of the game winning layup? How about the game vs Dallas a month ago where Horford went back court and they didn't call it in 1 possession game?

Lebron never gets called for a foul, but draws "fouls" all the times. It's sickening how this stuff works out, but you're blind or delusional if you think the NBA is called fairly. It favors the stars of the league, which is why Lebron is called for the least fouls in the league, shoots so many FTs, and the Cavs rarely lose at home.

So, ... you're here, why? Guilt? Hoping to convince us that we weren't cheated so you'll feel better?

The Cavs were "actually driving the ball" and "90 percent of the Hawks shots were jumpers" yet Cleveland had 2 more attempted 3 pointers?

Can you try and explain to me the foul calls against Lebron? You'd think someone with his athletic ability and size would actuall be called for fouls every once in a while.

Your stating single play instances, the officiating was horrible throughout the game.

I'm not explaining anything. My opinion is that the refs were basically the deciding factor in why Cleveland won. I just think it's foolish to take a "I'm not ever watching the NBA again!" stance based on one game. The Hawks shot more free throws than the Cavs every year from 2007-2009 and they've also won games based on bad calls just as Cleveland did tonight. It evens out over time.

Wow. I actually remember both games. Ford's ball was tipped on the inbounds, starting the clock. As per the ref's call, the clock ran out. In the Horford case, the ref ruled the ball was touched by a DAL player at the same time Horford touched it, which looked pretty right to me. That made the ball NOT a backcourt violation.

Point is, both of these calls were judgment calls that were close, close, close. I've watched replays of both plays later, after the heat of battle, and I still think the calls were close AND MAYBE RIGHT. Maybe you have replays of both plays, if they bothered you that much, and can show me wrong.

Is that the best you have? 'Cuz what I watched tonight was nothing like close calls that went against us. Knowwhutuhmean?

I could care less. Afterall, this is just basketball, this isn't my life. I'm still going to sleep soundly tonight. If you guys want to blame a 17 point lead collapse in the second half due to the refs, fine. Cry away.

1.8 fouls per game for Lebron. 60 all season. Meanwhile, Josh Smith is called for 3 fouls per game.

josh smith challenges alot of shots. so most of his fouls are legit. the problem with him however, is on the other side of the court where he gets no love. he gets hacked alot.

^^^ Josh really only has himself to blame for getting no love. If he wasn't such a punk to officials for his whole career it will be a different story. It will take time for him to build the reputation to get calls. I know it's not perfect, but in a game that is officiated as subjectively as basketball, those things will happen.

But yeah, terrible officiating tonight all the way to the shot clock fiasco in the final two minutes.

Ha! The 1st thing I saw in the comment section was ..."where 146-115 happens".
