I heard somewhere that if we kept him beyond a certain date that his contract became guaranteed. Guess we let him go right before that.

The Hawks already had 2 empty roster spots. This means that the hawks are in cost cutting mode- not more likely to sign another player.

It means they're gonna use the 10-day contracts for a while to find someone who can contribute on occasion, unlike Hunter. It is the cheaper route, of course, but in this case, I prefer it. The more guys you run through, the more chance of finding a good one.

I'll miss Othello. I really wanted him to be successful, but I understand cost cutting and he often didn't even dress for games let alone play.
