Cleveland Trade Rumors
The Cleveland rumors around the net have them linked to Troy Murphy, Jeff Foster, Antawn Jamison, and Amar’e Stoudemire. If Cleveland acquires any of those names what do you think it means for the East and our chances against them?
The Wizards reportedly asked for Zydrunas Ilgauskas, J.J. Hickson and a first-round pick for Jamison. It's tough to gauge how serious the interest is on either side, but Cleveland seems intent on adding a stretch-PF before the trade deadline.

Theres no point in even playing if they get Jamison. If Cleveland gets Jamison and Lakers get Bosh, I quit.
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

That deal seems to make sense for both teams, assuming the Wizards are ready to blow up their roster.

Re: Cleveland Trade Rumors
What I think would suck is if they get Ilgauskas back after a buyout following a trade. Amare doesn't scare me because he doesn't play D, would clog up the middle further, and possibly not integrate in time. Jamison is very scary because he dominates the Hawks normally. He would mean they get offensive fire power and don't lose rebounding with Varajeo on the bench.
It's not like the Cavs need help to dispatch us in a series. There desire to get a stretch 4 seems focused on the Magic.

Re: Cleveland Trade Rumors
If the Cavs get Jamison then I think the Hawks match up incredibly poorly with them. Thats just a nightmare scenario.
Murphy would be bad as well but isn't the disaster for Atlanta that Jamison would be.
The problem for the Hawks is that they already made their "deadline" trade when they acquired Crawford because they gave up all their contract filler in the deal. The only expiring contracts the Hawks have now are Joe Johnson and minimum salary players.

Re: Cleveland Trade Rumors
Even if they don't make a trade for Stoudemire or Jamison, we stand very little chance of beating Lebron and the referees in a 7 game series without homecourt advantage.
If they add either of those guys, they're a lock for the finals and probably favored over the Lakers as well.

Re: Cleveland Trade Rumors
The only problem that I see would be if Ilgauskas returned to the Cavs after being released by the Wizards. Now, Jamison would be perfect for the Cavs, and most teams in the NBA due to his versatility. With the being said, neither the Cavs, nor the Magic have what it takes to beat the Lakers in a 7 game series. Only the Celtics due to their toughness, experience, matchups, and defence mentality could pull off that kind of upset unless Kobe's got some kind of really serious injury.
GO HAWKS.

Re: Cleveland Trade Rumors
Another scary thing about the Jamison trade is that chemistry might not even be an issue with him. He's been stuck with the Wizards for a few years now. Sure he would love to actually contend for a title, especially at this stage of his career. He'll be more likely to just accept a role.

Re: Cleveland Trade Rumors
Add Igoudala to the rumor mill. He's obviously talented, but would he fit into the Cleveland lineup?

The Cavs don't like his contract so it's unlikely Iguodala happens. The Cavs and Wiz don't get along as organizations so Jamison to Cleveland is also unlikely. It depends on how badly the Wiz want to move him.

Re: Cleveland Trade Rumors
I have no idea why Cleveland is so hung up on keeping Hickson. If I were them and I could get Jamison for Hickson, Z, and two firsts, I'm taking that deal ASAP so LeBron doesn't have even the remotest reason to bolt.

I am not sure it's Hickson, I think it's Z.
If they trade him, they only have O'Neal as C, with Z being replace by Jamison.
One more forward taking a C minutes could make CLE playing with more speed, more small ball, but still with O'Neal on the roster, and it's something that reminds me PHX when O'Neal was there.
But they need O'Neal against ORL and Howard...
IMO, if there was no Howard (but there is still the Western team on NBA Finals), they would do the Jamison trade, and a O'Neal trade.
But at this moment, trading Z is something that could prevent us to get a big improvement from getting Jamison.

They would still have Varejao.

Yes, and he has a bigger impact than the previous year, but the fact that Z is one of the best shooting C is what makes CLE win lots of time.
IMO, if they trade Z, it would be something like ATL trading Bibby. They both have less impact than the previous years, but even with impressive numbers, they continue to bring winning when they are on the court.
Crawford is showing good numbers, but we are still often better than the other team when Bibby is on the court (crawford being on or off the court).
Now, Z is on expiring contract, and there is not lots of players with value available at his position, so sure Jamison would be a good player.

And Z would be free to resign with them in 30 days.
I think Washington is overplaying their hand. I think the Cavs will end up just picking up Troy Murphy and be done with it.

Re: Cleveland Trade Rumors
Bibby is better than Z, and if we could trade Bibby for Jamison, I have to believe we'd do that trade in a heartbeat, so I'm not sure your comparison works.
I hope Cleveland doesn't do it though, Cavs with Jamison or Amare would be stacked as hell.

Z's an expiring contract and Bibby isn't. Also Bibby's salary wouldn't match Jamison.

I prefer Murph over Jamison so it would be a win to me. LeBron seems to want Jamison though.

Yeah, it was just a response to D21 about how trading Z would be like trading Bibby - the overall impact of Jamison is far greater.
