Hoopsworld Southeast Breakdown

While nobody on Atlanta's roster is likely to moved, there are players who could be mentioned. Joe Johnson is in the last year of his deal and the general consensus around the league is that Atlanta won't spend the money to resign him. This means that Johnson could walk this summer and the Hawks would have nothing to show for it. For this reason alone, Johnson may be mentioned but don't expect Atlanta to break up their core now as they look to contend.

The consensus around the league is that Joe won't be resigned? News to me. I didn't realize the feeling was that strong or decided. I realize it is a real possibility, but there is almost an equal possibility that they pay Joe the max to keep the window open. The rest of the season and the playoffs will go a long way to deciding the issue.

I cant see Joe leaving. He is the main cog on a contending team. Does he want to leave to play for a worst team? Hopefully he wont get offered to play with LeBron or Wade bc then I believe he could leave. Hes been through to much and built up to much with this team to leave while its on the cusp.
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
