Apparently Rose isn't 100%. Will be a big starting lineup for the EC.

Well, I hope Joe performs well this time, and controls the ball more. MVP would be nice!

Same here. An MVP performance won't hurt.

Re: Joe Johnson Starting
^^^ I just don't see Joe having the personality to stand out in All-Star lineup. That kind of assertiveness would make me feel better about him looking for a max contract.

No, no, no, no, no. He needs to suck. You gotta think free agency cost here.

Re: Joe Johnson Starting
It's really quite confusing for most of the time. There are fans who want JJ to do more (i.e. scoring and passing) while there are others that would love to see him have a bad game (for max contract reasons).
To be honest, I'm all for JJ slumping because for some reason, I just don't see these Hawks (current lineup) making it to the ECF.
There has got to be a way to keep this winning afloat or, better yet, become championship contenders. And probably the only way is to keep options (offseason free agents), grab a max player off the market then collect solid bench guys.
I'm actually optimistic of the Hawks' chances to land players who wants to play for a contender (off the bench) given the performance the Hawks are displaying right now.

Re: Joe Johnson Starting
JJs performance in the ASG game has no effect on his future contract. I hope he plays well and reps the Hawks well.
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

I admit assertiveness wasn't the right word for me to use. In Hawks games I wish Joe would make quicker decisions, not pound the ball into floor only to shoot a contested fall back jumper. Take the ball to the hole when he's got that type of advantage on the defender and hit the open man quickly when he's doubled.
In an All-Star game, you get attention for above the rim action (which isn't Joe) or piling up points by draining every open shot you see. Joe could possibly do #2, but is he really going to with Lebron and Wade on the floor with him? Every time I've seen him on the same squad as those elite talents he's quickly faded into a 5th option role. I'd feel better about max dollars to someone trying to be among the very best in the league not just willingly a tier below.
Given the market he's likely to get max dollars regardless of his performance on Sunday. A dud isn't going to get a discount. If he resigns in Atlanta I just hope he steps up his performance in post-season and earns it when it counts.

^^^ The team performance on Wednesday left me bitter and the weather is sucking. I also fell asleep only to wake up and find that Michael Rappaport was the celebrity game MVP. WTF?
The only positive of All-Star Weekend so far has been Craig's suit.

JJ getting to start is a good thing, right?

DeJuan Blair with 22 points and 23 rebounds. That should be enough for MVP!

Re: Joe Johnson Starting
Was Tyreke the MVP? or was it co-MVPs of Blair and Evans? I'm so confused.

Tyreke Evans was the MVP, but he decided to let Blair have a picture with him, and to make Blair feel even better he shared the MVP with him. Tyreke Evans is one of the very few players I like and would call a favorite of mine.
