Is Crawford bad on defense?

for years while the whole league, and Hawks fans said that Crawford had a bad attitude, they also said he was horrible on defense (just like Ben Gordon). i never believed that even when he was in Chicago. i watched Crawford from time to time in Chicago and New York and his defense always looks fine, not great or elite, but passable for NBA standards.

after watching Crawford consistently now for 40 some games, his defense still looks fine and even good in Woody's system. he is no where as bad a Bibby, who pretty much college players can blow by, and doesn't commit bad or dumb fouls like Zaza use to do.

do Hawks fans (and NBA fans) still think Crawford plays horrible defense?

Totally agree with you, not as horrible as most fans made him sound.Has been somewhat of a surprise to me, maybe we can attribute this to Bibby who would struggle guarding a chair on 3 wheels. So he looks this way by comparison.

Agree; he, if Crawford is considered a bad defender, what does that make Bibby?

Crawford has impressed me in every way, and the label put on him prior to Atlanta is just way off.
Must be the coaching?

I personally think he defends much better at the 2 than at the 1.

I don't find him to be an especially good defender. But he works hard on that end of the floor, and that's half the battle when you are surrounded by good defenders (Smoove, Al, JJ, Marv etc.)
