Stat masters, help!

I was telling my son about Clifford Ray (of Warriors' fame) when we went to his Wikipedia page and found the claim that his arms are 3 feet 9 inches long. 3 feet 9 inches long! That's 45 inches.

The wingspan of that man must be around 9 and a half feet!

Could this be a misprint? Does anybody know if it's even possible?

They measure wingspans at the combine and I have never seen a wingspan over 8 feet.

Manute Bol has the largest wing-span in NBA history at 8'6".

I hear y'all, but go to his wiki page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clifford_Ray and scroll down to the section entitled, "Dolphin rescue" and see for yourself.

Do some people - maybe - measure arm length from the spine?
